Oh, it's such a good job I missed the trade deadline and it is null and void, isn't it? Gears of War what a game produced and picked confidently by Boobisoft, with endless promotion and months of hype. Well done, @Ravix you are the best game-picker there is.
Does the fact I admitted that I actually missed the embargo by 10 minutes and was happy to look foolish count for naught? I say we pretend it all never happened.
Oh dear… Gears of War E-day an 87… 😯 and End of Abyss a 73. Yikes.
And we have @Ravix talking to himself in the third person… oh boy, we may need to send help to BoobiSoft HQ to help him find his lost marbles.
I’m fine with enforcing the embargo time expiration, as I guess technically the swap shouldn’t count and he should have had to keep GoW. That’s a really big difference in points. I’m confident enough in my catalog to let BoobiSoft keep the better rated game instead. The poor chap has two games without release dates so I kind of feel sorry for him. 😅 But I defer final judgment on this predicament to our supreme overlord, @Tjuz

@Th3solution I always knew you were a stand-up fella, a role-model, even. Someone that we should all strive to be like - On our best days, we are not worthy of you on your worst
🙌 🙌 🙌 Mhysa! Mhysa! Mhysa! 🙌 🙌 🙌
@Tjuz I just learned that the board had actually taken away my executive powers (temporarily) as I was showing signs of mild psychosis, schizophrenia and general paranoia whilst clawing through potential conspiracies surrounding the release of Gears Of War and allowing AI misinformation and the scribblings of a madman to guide me (Who even is this: 'XivaR' whose notes i've been reading?!) A week away at 'The Resort' should sort things out. I hear they have lovely white jackets that we get to wear, and the veiws are wonderful, endless, and oh so peaceful. It is a place where everything is just... perfect 🥲🥲
When it seems you're out of luck.

@Werehog Wow, Galactic Racer impresses! Maybe even more than expected? 87 so far on OC, even topping Zero Company right now. Star Wars fans are treated this year!
“We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.”
@Werehog Congrats on StarWars, I wasn't sure who picked it but knew someone did. It sounds like a great game and apparently it has hundreds of customizations too, hopefully the IP continues to be handled with care. Aliens was for a time and then Fire Team Elite 2 showed something else. It's a shame too because Dark Descent was so well made, the environments looked so faithful and the sound-effects were so well done. I think the difficulty held some people back, I hope they make a second one.
These violent delights have violent ends & in their triumph die, like fire & powder Which, as they kiss, consume.
Apologies for missing a few key moments, y'all. With regards Star Wars: Galactic Racer...
...but anyway, moving swiftly on!

@Th3solution Thank you for the Ace Combat praise back there, too! As an occasional fan of the series, I'm pleased for its success beyond this competition anyway, and have added it to my wishlist (although I still have its direct predecessor to play yet, so methinks it'll be a while). I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting Galactic Racer to be that solid, was hoping for a high 70 or low 80 but, to answer your previous question, Forever Ago is what's shaking my confidence right now. Due out in a couple days and not a peep from any previews. It's an indie game, so I'm expecting some scores to slowly surface over the weekend, perhaps. Either that, or there are reviews out there, but they've been embargoed, and that's always a double-edged sword. Methinks you made a smart counter-pick, buddy!
Oh, and you were definitely smart to swap out Kena back there, too! Play of the game!

@Ravix Well, sh... er, shut the front door. My friend, my dear, dear friend. I am so very sorry if my "you can afford to take the risk" reply contributed to your disastrous swap decision. What a nightmare! That's got to be an example of Fantasy Critic worst case scenario, right there! And after earning special dispensation for the deadline and everything! I'm with Sol, I say we all look the other way and pretend(o) that it never happened. Congratulations on your Gears wisdom!! Not least because, as we discussed before, I was particularly curious how it would perform, and nearly drafted it for myself early on!

@Tjuz You're generous to let me try, but I'd never take credit for a single happy accident, let alone a steady stream of them! This really is a "story of my life" situation, s'all. Just because I'm eloquent doesn't mean I'm right, and just because I look smart doesn't mean I am. This is sheer dumb luck playing out in real time, the equivalent of being dealt a pair of aces from the get-go and just quietly waiting out the hand (which, for the record, is the only way I have ever won at poker)!

@GirlVersusGame Appreciate the Star Wars congratulations, thank you! It does look like it's a hit, not least because it's filling a gap in the market. I'll be sure to share my thoughts, as and when!

@Werehog I think @Tjuz 's special dispensation was a way to hamper me further, honestly 👀 I messed up, but I messed up out of time so my intial mess-up kind of overrides the second (much worse) mess-up, so all is void, as far as i'm concerned 👀👀 I don't think I particularly asked for special dispensation either, just bemoaned my bad timing to play for attention, most probably for effect 😅 I think if you see my latest post it kind of shows why maybe allowing Gears to stand as my pick (as it should, legally, in a court of law) is fine, as I won't be asking for my option to trade another game back, I think i'm going to eat the big fat 0's that Grave Seasons (confirmed as delayed until march) and probably Goldman will give me, mostly because I am overcome with a great malaise as I continue to stare out over various bodies of water and wonder "what could have been" 🥺🥺🥺🥺
Unless an outpouring of support comes in and demands I also get to make an actual legitimate trade in future, but I don't really plan to. I was so looking forward to Grave Seasons, too. I didn't realise this fun fantasy league would lead to such genuine sadness. As, not only do I miss out on the points, but I can't even play the game - my cosy halloween horror plans now in ruins 🥺🥺🥺🥺
I couldn't even secure a steelbook copy of Control Resonant to support @th3Solution and his wonderful collection of releases 🥺 and we didn't all get to play Big Walk together 🥺 the sadness, it just never ends, does it?
🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺
I think I have now run out of tears so will put my energy into congratulating you, once again. Who knew Star Wars could be so popular? 😛
And joking and sadness aside, I do appreciate the support during my utter collapse and executive sized mental break, and if I get to keep Gears I will be prepared to maybe grovel at all of your feet for one whole day 🥺
@Ravix Normally this is where I'd go looking for an appropriate GIF of some Gears characters hugging it out, to convey sympathy and support, but I fear Google might misinterpret my attempt to find images of burly men embracing one another, so I'll use my words instead.
Also, I wrote a story once where the protagonist ended up crying at the ocean. It's a cliché for a reason, so know that I feel you, buddy. Not in that way, but... well, y'know!
