@LtSarge I think when one plates a Team Ico game, he or she must put aside expectations as far as how the game should feel, control, and play. The games all have unorthodox control and input schemes and strange gameplay mechanics. Such things were less glaring back in older generations, but now they can feel off-putting. And the puzzles aren’t set up the same way that most games are now. It’s a whole different era. It’s partly why I’d be fascinated to see what Ueda’s current project is like. It may never see the light of day and I don’t think we’ve heard a peep about it. I don’t know if it’s officially dead yet or just in some secretive development hell.

Have worked through 4 of the colossi so far. Bluepoint have done a fantastic job of the visuals. The lighting and the sense of space are increadible along with how each colossus is designed. That being said, while I've enjoyed what I've played thus far, it's not grabbed me yet the way I might have expected.
Beaten the 6th and 7th Colossi tonight. Still enjoy the game but the more I play the more I wish the controls were updated.
@R1spam feel similar in the fact it hasn't grabbed me. I enjoy it and will finish it, but so far it's a mixed experience. Controls and some of the battle designs can be... Frustrating.
@NedStarksGhost@LtSarge As much as I love this game, the 4th colossus just ends up being kind of annoying, since most of the battle is just waiting for the thing to lower itself down so you can jump on it. And yeah, the solution is not self-evident at all on an initial run.
I did the 5th and 6th colossi tonight. The 5th was really cool other than the irritatingly slow swim speed. The 6th was another ‘puzzle’ one/stand on specific spot and wait. It took bloody ages to get to as well.
After dying to the eel colossus, I’m very very close to just giving this one up unfortunately. I want to like it, but that’s a couple of times now I’ve tried the game. I love Ico as well.
@nessisonett Electric eel colossus is primarily just a lot of positioning and waiting. Time it so that you crawl up and disable the spines on its back AFTER they're done discharging electricity.
Currently Playing: Resident Evil Village: Gold Edition
@nessisonett I get what you mean, it's taken a while for me for the game to click. I'm starting to dig it a bit more and beat the 8th colossus this morning, which might have been my favourite colossus so far.
I've just beat the 10th colossus, safe to say I won't be popping the trophy for beating the game without dying. It was such a weird fight, like tremors (the kevin bacon classic movie) meets the camera from nameless King boss fight with a horse that's hard AF to control. Not going to lie, I'm nor sure I'm finishing this before elden ring comes out
@R1spam just best the 10th Colossus this morning too. Picked it back up again for the first time in a week or so. The bosses that rely on your horse can be annoying. Controls weirdly and stops out of nowhere!
I do wish the controls had been updated with the game too, because the bosses themselves and the mechanics are really good. Clunky controls just let it down at times!
Edit; forgot to add, I found the 9th Colossus very easy, did anybody else?
@NedStarksGhost I think its that the direction of the left stick doesn't change for your direction when the camera perspective changes, brutal! Yeah, I was lucky with that one too. Took more damage from falling than any poison cloud
@NedStarksGhost@R1spam I’m on the 9th colossus and gave up for now. Just did not want to register the fact it was sitting on top of the geyser. Even when I shot an arrow into its foot, the bloody thing didn’t tip over. Annoying.
@NedStarksGhost I noticed one of the feet had a glowing green thing so I shot that. It did a bit of damage but the colossus didn’t tip over like I thought it would.
@nessisonett I tried the front foot first and nothing happened. I then ended up trying the rear foot and it toppled over. Might be you need to shoot both for it to work or only the rear foot works?
