@velio84 yeah it’s a quality game that. Had quite a lot of The Last of Us about it for me.

@velio84 It’s a great experience, especially for a “AA” game.

It does have a couple of infuriating combat related moments that everyone encounters but I’ve only seen positive reactions to it on here. A very achievable platinum too if that’s your thing.

@velio84 It’s a solid game that gets better as you go. It’s made me keen to checkout the sequel when it arrives.

@velio84 Enjoy! It really is cracking little game.

I'm currently playing Dirt 5 myself, and can see what you mean abut the rumble. There doesn't seem to much nuance to it, it seems to be either on full whack or hardly at all with not much in between.

The racing itself is quite fun, I quite like the frozen tracks, but dislike some of the more novelty vehicles. The podcasts are awful though, proper cringe.

@JohnnyShoulder @velio84 I reached the end of the career mode last night and can promise you the “story”, unlike Plague, only gets worse.

The races don’t differ that much and it feels like there should be a greater variety of events. The one event type that I found I enjoyed the most is pathfinder. It’s a good challenge without being too difficult. The gymkhana and score attack stuff I thought would have been more fun but just ended up frustrating me, hence one of the trophies I don’t have is scoring 30,000 on a gymkhana event.

Overall Wreckfest was much more enjoyable for me and I might go back to playing that if I need a bit of a racing game fix.

JohnnyShoulder

@render Yeah I don't think I will be able to get that trophy either as I've only manages 8k so far.

@JohnnyShoulder @Iver @velio84 It’s a shame it Dirt 5 sounds so limited as I was looking forward to a decent arcade racer.

Maybe I’ll just have to hope for a next (current?) gen Need for Speed game as they seem to get average reviews but I enjoy them!

Thrillho

JohnnyShoulder

@Iver Ha ha that would be an immediate turn off if that was the case.

Cool. That will be the first thing I do when I next play the game.

@Thrillho it's still worth a shout as I'm still enjoying the racing mostly. Maybe a good game to have on the side.

@Iver NFS Payback was when I almost bought many times but it eventually came to PS+ and I had a blast. A nice mixture of race modes, plenty of cars, and an utterly stupid storyline.

Spider-Man becomes a totally different game if you pretend FEAST is a branch of Scientology. Peter ‘recruiting’ Miles after tragedy, his weird fake half-smile whenever he’s talking to him. Peter actually resembles cult recruiters quite a bit in his mannerisms in those cutscenes 😂

@Thrillho @Iver I think I played all the NFS games last gen. They were oright and think they have gotten a bit of bad rep over the years. I don't think I've ever finished one though as there is always a challenge I struggle with or just get bored of having to grind races for XP.

When I was finished with NFS Heat, I was a bit fed up with the whole open world racing thing, so I thought I needed some more traditional racing. But I got bored of Wreckfest pretty quickly, so was confused over what I wanted in a racer. I think enough time has passed since for me to get over that now as I'm quite enjoying Dirt 5 at the mo.

Looking at my psn friends leaderboard in the game, it looks like @velio84 is king for the most part, with everyone else mixing it up with their track times.

EDIT: Whoops! Sorry Ness, I tagged you by accident there! Think I was gonna ask something about Spider-man, but I forget what now! 😂 I've removed it, but you've probs already got the email by now. Soz!

@Iver @velio84 @JohnnyShoulder I had a few goes on Dirt 5 last night after I finished playing ME for the evening and somehow managed to hook up a score of over 32000 on a gymkhana event. Basically I turned everything to easy including using the trickster option. Then I chose one of the earlier ones in career mode and used a Mini.

The trick was to just do the easy stuff e.g. knocking over those pink blocks, going through narrow gaps etc and just don’t go too fast. I managed to rack up x3 before hitting one of those big donut things and there it was. Felt like a bit of a cheat and it still wasn’t all that much fun.

@render Oooooh cheers for the tip. I did the same for a Sprint race I did earlier and also turned off the trigger feedback, so it was easier to control the throttle by feathering.

Voltan

I launched a game other than Guilty Gear for the first time in a few weeks: got back to Deathloop for a short while. It’s still pretty good

Uncharted2007

Finally completed Mass Effect 3 and thus, the Legendary Edition. Moved on to Guardians of the Galaxy (PS5) and it's pretty good thus far.

@Iver What on earth are you doing?

It can feel a bit aimless to start with and the first couple of days can feel a bit frustrating until you open up the second part of the map.

I hope you stick with it and it works out for you as it is a fantastic game. Maybe post what you’ve done so far in the game’s thread if you’re struggling?

@Iver I’m genuinely interested to know how you’re losing so much morale! Although don’t worry if you take a couple of hits to it, it’s just your mental health as opposed to the health stat’s physical health, you’ll die if it reaches zero but there’s plenty of restorative items.

Playing Judgment and one of the friends you can make in game can only be achieved by winning a round of Mahjong (with a special rule in place).

I had a quick read of a guide and had a basic enough understanding to fluke a win but fair play to @colonelkilgore if you learnt enough to get whatever you needed for the completion list in Yakuza Kiwami!
