All those impressions didn't disappoint. A rogue like with a constant sense of progression, great controls and a righteous difficulty sounds perfect. Day 1.

I wasn't keen on this... until the vids from the last few days.
I've given in and pre-ordered.
I am the ultimate hype whore.

@hypnotoad Lmaoo you're not alone. Luckily though I don't think it'll disappoint, quite the contrary actually. Returnal seems to be setting itself up to exceed everyone's expectations.

@velio84 Thanks, really but since this last year I have been unfortunate (accident) & have to pay an extra €400 a month on special medicines. So carrefully picking my battles now. This game will be quality, i'm sure. In another lifetime I would have pre-ordered blindy!

I see Returnal is No.1 on Amazon best seller list so that's pretty awesome. Friday can't come soon enough.

I would jump in as well but alas, can't find a PS5 to play it on still. Looking forward to joining in on this one when stock allows. I do love a good Housemarque game.

@velio84 That’s interesting — the PSN preorder price in the U.S. hasn’t been discounted. It’s still $70. I wonder what’s the UK preorder price?

Seems Sony may be responding to all the chatter about inequality of pricing in the different markets.

The way I got a small discount is by ordering physical rather than digital, btw.

(I don’t want to be a wet blanket on the hype here by stirring up the tiresome pricing debate — there’s plenty of places in the article comments sections for that and it’s a dead horse at this point. I was just wondering since the UK pricing seems to have been the most aggressive.)

@velio84 @Th3solution I think it's just regional pricing (in currencies different than euro). It's just that PSN has a set price point for each currency which isn't affected by exchange rates. I understand (peeped the profile page) that velio84 is in Bulgaria and their price in Lev translates roughly to 71€ as of today. I'm in Poland and the price is more like 74€ (I got it in retail for 72-ish). UK is still £70, which is almost exactly 80€ (so like most of EU).

@Voltan Ah, ok - thanks for the clarification. In fact it does seem like other local factors play a role in the pricing strategy.

Just checked ShopTo, and my Returnal pre-order is bieng processed. I will hopefully get it a couple of days early

@velio84 Not sure if there are available in your country, but CD Keys sell PS store credit a bit cheaper. So £50 you can get for £45, might be worth checking out if you are planning use the PS store on a more regular basis.

Saw some extended footage of this yesterday and I gotta say it looks really quite nice (I was already interested when it was first shown mind you). Shame it isn't on the PS4 too (Though I obviously get why it isn't) as I'd be actually quite tempted to pick it up.

Combat looks really fluid and kinetic... In fact it kinda gave me Doom-like vibes from the pace of it just in a 3rd person perspective and the enemy designs look pretty neat too!

I never got a chance to see the second biome from the footage yesterday but not only does that look so different from that dark jungle-y first biome but yeah that REALLY gives off some DOOM/Mars vibes @velio84

Only makes me want a PS5 and this even more!
