I'm 2 Anchors of Fog away from getting the platinum in God of War, beat Sigrun last night, one hell of a battle and playing on PS5 is great with quicker loading times 60fps and most importantly the console is super quiet and cool. I was always terrified my pro would explode into flames whilst playing games that really pushed it.
@Thrillho@JohnnyShoulder@RogerRoger Thanks for the warm welcome to the company of the elite! Feels good to be able to actually relate to the tales and experiences of a current gen adopter.

@Th3solution You liked Bloodborne didn’t you? I highly recommend getting Demon’s Souls then. Astrobot aside, it’s a much better next gen game than the others. It gives that wow feeing between how good it looks and how detailed the dualsense is in it.
I think it’s still the premiere PS5 game.
Every time I turn it on I’m glad I own a PS5.
@Jaz007 Yeah, I really came to adore Bloodborne. The only issue was the early hours of it were quite stressful and frustrating. But once I crossed over the hump I really grew to love it as one of my favorite PS4 games, hands down. However, I think I’ve been so hesitant to jump into another FromSoft game because I know there is the early steep learning curve with frustrating deaths and greenness to the mechanics, such that I sort of dread those early hours of work I expect I’ll have to put in before I start hitting the dopamine rush part of the satisfying gameplay. 😅
But I think the reported stellar graphics, beautiful aesthetics, and haptic feedback of DeS would be more apt to carry me through those early frustrations since it will likely be entertaining in their own right.
I’ve been hoping that DeS will get a slight price discount at some point, but I don’t think it appears to be happening soon.

@Th3solution The increased frame rate helps a great deal too i found in Demon's Souls. New gen games tend to hold their price a bit longer at first, but I did see it for 50 quid over here in the UK a few weeks ago, so you might find a good deal if you shop around a bit.
Life is more fun when you help people succeed, instead of wishing them to fail.

@Th3solution I found the early hours of DS much easier than those of BB. I don’t know if it’s easier or I have more experience with From, but you shouldn’t have as hard if a time, and BB was some do the brutal first hours in a game I’ve ever had, if not the most.
@Kidfried It’s an interesting one because you can see it two ways. Perhaps it’s actually more freeing for devs that they can work on new games instead of being forced into the sequel cycle?
@jdv95@Kidfried Yeah, I get it to be honest. I’m a bit worried that they’re pivoting Naughty Dog into the new Japan Studio and turning some talented devs into support studios.
I'm not too fussed about Days Gone 2 being turned down
Yeah it had a foundation but I wasn't really in love with it. I thought the concept of swarms of zombies added some intensity to a fatigued genre but other than that it wasn't really any zombie game I hadn't played before. I guess I'm not really into that type of game
I agree that the concerning issue is not that Days Gone 2 wasn’t greenlit, rather that the team was funneled into a direction they may not have felt passionate about. Sony has always been known for giving developers freedom to work on what’s in their artistic vision. I don’t know if that’s completely true but that’s the perception. But the recent closings and downsizings and now this, it makes me sad to see they may be giving up on that free reign. There are only so many Dreams, and Ericas, Drive Clubs, and Gravity Rush 2’s that the company can shoulder while they look across at Microsoft buying up huge IP’s

Being serious, why didn't Naughty Dog just give TLOU2 a free PS5 upgrade? The game looks gorgeous already so having the game in native 4K and in 60fps with stuff like enhanced shadows and lighting would make it looks even more gorgeous.
@Jackpaza0508 With the rumors about a PS5 version of the original TLoU, I’m thinking there is a strategy for releasing a bundled PS5 version of the original game and Part 2, probably with Factions 2. So they are holding off on TLoU2 PS5 release until that’s all ready to go, I’m guessing. Plus, so long as the PS4 version is selling, they will wait and hope people with double dip on the PS5 version if they dangle the multiplayer in there too, along with maybe the first game.
As for me, I’m waiting on the second game’s inevitable PS5 release, but it’s tempting to buy the PS4 version since its now commonly seen at $30.

@Arugula I would guess it would be like The Last of Us: The Legendary Edition or The Complete Edition or The Definitive Edition.
Personally, unless the price is pretty low, I’m not inclined to buy a bundle with the first game. And I’m not sure I have interest in the multiplayer, it depends. So hopefully they sell these things a la carte so I can just but TLoU2 PS5 version.
