Didn't see a thread already setup this, so I thought I set this one up.

I will definitely be getting the game after I've moved in to my new house and can dedicate some time to it.

Seems to be getting good reviews. Hope every one is having a jolly good time playing it!

@JohnnyShoulder Yeah I'll be getting it at some point... though will probably wait for the physical (& to be in my new house 😉).

Looks like some old school, sickly-sweet fun. Not my usual brand of entertainment... but I don't mind it once in a blue-moon.

smells like… victory!!!!

I played it for all of 5 minutes before work today and it sure is pretty.
Never expected it to be GOTY material but seems like a very nice little game and honestly great for a debut from directors that only have background in film/animation. Definitely one of the best looking platformers out there, if nothing else.

Octane

83 on OpenCritic, so sounds good. 40 is a little steep though.

The first 2 hours have a Horizon: Zero Dawn vibe to them - the earlier part of the game (South-East part of the map). And it actually got me really excited for the new Horizon

It sounds like a good solid game so will definitely grab this at some point. Good to hear that the gameplay is good as well as the visuals. This is only the start for these guys too.

The PS4 version has an unavoidable game breaking bug that happens when you equip a mask that's needed to progress. You can't remove it once equipped, the camera freaks out and gets stuck in first person mode. It completely halts game progression. How this wasn't caught is beyond belief. Stuck with a digital coaster until it gets patched. Highly unimpressed.

@Shigurui Sorry that happened to you but apparently it doesn't happen every time?

My first impressions on PS5 are positive. Looks and sounds great. Gameplay itself is nothing exceptional so far but good enough. Some abilities seem interesting and the little wooden monsters hit surprisingly hard sometimes
I'm only about an hour in, so I've only done some very basic puzzles, heading for the first real objective, where I expect to find some kind of boss fight.
I don't think this will be a GOTY contender for me but it's really nice - so far so good.

Splat

How do you hide the help icons in photo mode to take a pic?

@Splat I don't think you can hide the icons but when you take a pic with R1, it saves it without them.

Played for about an hour and enjoyed what I've played so far. Loving the photo mode.

I got the bow and found 100% of everything in one of the regions of the map. The bow is pretty cool - both for combat and for environmental puzzles. That's enough for today though

Shigurui

@Voltan - In my case it happens every time I equip the mask. My save point is right where you need to use it to drop the barrier, once equipped it bugs out and I'm stuck in a loop of the camera either spinning wildly or staying in first person and Kena can't move at all. Loading my save puts me back to square one and the bug kicks in again.

@Shigurui Ugh, that sucks. I saw others mention it happening but they all said they were able to progress after reloading. I hope it gets patched very soon.

I got to where you beat the first proper boss and I don’t see how this game is 9 hours long. I’m probably 4 hours in and doubt it will end in 5 hours. I feel like it’s going to be 12 - 15 hours long as there are still 4-5 locked areas from the village and I’ve only explored 1 so far.
Which is great.

It is 32 quid in the UK from the PS store. I don't mind paying that even if it is supposed a shorter experience, just to show some support to a small indie team on their first game.

KilloWertz

@velio84 Maybe you're just slow at the game...

Seriously though, I usually am, so I don't see myself only completing it in 8-10 hours either when I start it (probably tomorrow) after I'm done with Uncharted 3.

@KilloWertz I am indeed slow at most games (at least initially) as I really like to take my time and get myself into the world of whatever game it is. Closer to the end I start rushing a bit as I'm keen to get it over with and start something new, but when I look at "how long to beat X" I'm usually a couple of hours more than the average times.

Voltan

I definitely want to find all the Rot and hats and stuff so yeah, so far it looks like it could be 15-ish hours for the initial playthrough (and then you need to beat it on master difficulty for the plat).
