Ha well everyone has a different point of view. I had the same feeling with Gamespot the bearded guy kept asking silly questions (considering the guy only played a few hours and could not really answer) to my opinion haha
I liked the few bits of info though. š

@Voltan@JJ2 yeah it was totally worth it for Islaās take. Super enthusiastic and provided some genuine nuggets⦠I just wish they had traded Brad for Huber. Even if Huber has absolutely no know,edge of the subject, heās honest about it and still āwildlyā entertaining.

@velio84@lolwhatno I always go pure strength while wielding an ultra great sword. Great fun. Ive tried dex builds and still enjoyed but thereās something about swinging an UGS. Never tried magic⦠probably never will š¤
@colonelkilgore
Same Iām not interested in magic. What is great is I see a lot of people going for a different starting class genuinely thinking itās the best one. It shows how this game can be played from very different approaches and a true RPG in my view.
Iāll go with Vagabond which I feel is a great starting class because of balanced starting stats (If no magic) and good equipment with decent armour and decent shield with I really like and need from the beginning for my play style. I was eyeing the Samurai class for the Longbow but looks like he has a crappy shield. Just need search for decent weapon I can invest in and a bow in the early game.
One thing I learned is equipment load doesnāt scale with strength anymore like in the Beta but now it scales with endurance / stamina which makes a lot of sense since any build needs it.

@lolwhatno
I think warrior class is dext focused here. I think a balanced starting class is good too and then either strength or dext or quality depending t on the weapons you like (or just are lucky enough to grab in your exploration) . There is definitely no boring way to play it. All approaches are fun.

@lolwhatno@velio84@colonelkilgore I usually start with the Knight class but always go down the dex path, so might aswell start that way. Never really enjoyed a strength build, as I find them too slow and I prefer more agile movement of the lighter builds. I would never go the extreme of going naked though. In the game, that is.

@JJ2 thatās interesting about weapons scaling with stamina⦠thatās gonna be different but Iām sure Iāll get used to it. Gonna be a wild ride, canāt wait.
@JohnnyShoulder in fairness, itās only the weapon swing which is slower, the running/rolling etc is the same. You just have to be more precise when you take your one big swing (as it takes so long from button press to blade connecting with the enemy) as opposed to your many stabs I guess.
@colonelkilgore
Hi. No I meant the load you can carry is now linked to stamina. Which makes sense. In network test it was with strength

@lolwhatno I've started each game thinking I will experiment a bit more, but always end up doing a dex build as I like using bow and arrows too much.
@colonelkilgore I'm not a particular fan of fat rolling and there has absolutely been a difference to movement when you have a lower equip load in the Souls games.
@JJ2 ahhh⦠okay. Thatās cool, as I always like to put a fair few points into endurance anyway to ensure I have enough to dodge roll out every trouble if things go awry.
@JohnnyShoulder itās always been percentage though right. I never fat roll⦠I just make sure that my equip load is low enough a percentage to fast roll.
@colonelkilgore Yeah that's right, but for me getting my endurance that high with the heavy stuff to lower my equip load always requires too much of a grind, which I've never found enjoyable. And I've had all the relevant rings equipped etc.

@JohnnyShoulder I just wear next to nothing, Iād imagine the various pieces of armour/clothes combined that you end up wearing probably end up weighing around the same (if not more) than the UGS I aināt up using.
Rolling is my go to defence as Iāve never clicked with parrying⦠so I fast roll from minute one. Thereās no way to grind a fast roll from the start, itās all equip load management.
@colonelkilgore Yep I know all this mate and I've tried and it is simply not for me as there are too many sacrifices I have to make. I like being fully kitted out in whatever armour set I choose to wear. I like have quite a bit of equipment on me too, etc. There are lots of different reasons why I never liked going down the strength build route.
I'm not too bad at parrying these days. Could never get the timing right when I first started playing, but I'm OK at it now.
