@Thrillho I'm really interested to test out GoT's combat, I've heard very good things in that regard and it is probably my main priority when enjoying a game like Ghost.

@colonelkilgore The different stances work well and I’ll never tire of using the showdown mechanic.

@Foxy-Goddess-Scotchy I also wasn't too keen on that demo. shame because I had my eyes on Scarlet Nexus for a while. I liked the story presentation and I did like some of the combat ideas. They made the telekinetic abilities pretty seamless and combat looks stylish, but when party members flash on the screen when using their abilites it was cool at first but I found it cumbersome to my gameplay after awhile.

Something to keep an eye out for is that Tales of Arise

@Thrillho can't wait, what you got coming up next after GoT btw?

**** me? Nah… **** you (right in the ***)!

Thrillho

I’ve currently got;

Yakuza 6
Yakuza: Like a Dragon
Control: Ultimate Edition
Oddworld: Soulstorm

Which are still awaiting first plays. FF7R is due a replay on PS5 with the DLC and I want another go at Disco Elysium.

Ratchet and Clank also came in the post this week so it’ll probably be between that and Control with Yakuza 6 after whichever I go for.

Biomutant
Knockout City

I'm loving these two games!

@Thrillho You're not ready for how fun Yuffie is to control, Tifa's got some competition!

@TraCuz- regardless of 'control' Tifa will never have competition 🥰

@TheBrandedSwordsman Glad to hear you like it so far. The difficulty ramps up a little toward the end, but just keep building Jesse’s attributes (I prioritized health and mostly ignored melee - preferring to do most of my damage from a distance with the telekinetic hurling of items at the enemies) and you should be okay. @colonelkilgore
The DLC is much more difficult than the base game, imo, with pretty tough boss fights. I played both at the end game, and The Foundation fits best to play after the game conclusion, whereas AWE can be played naturally in the course of the game but is probably too difficult to play early on. Either way, I think the DLCs are worth a shot, for the new story elements and the new area and skills in The Foundation are pretty interesting.

@Thrillho I think you’ll find the end game for GoT wraps up pretty quickly. I agree that the open world approach dragged into the latter half, but the story beats make it fly a little quicker at the end. Some streamlining could have helped, but I agree that I, like you, am obsessive at doing everything and unlocking the whole beautiful map.

@Th3solution cheers for the info sol. If I play dlc I tend to treat it as end game content, so that would suit me.

Does it add much in terms of story and world building?

I dunno if it's cus I played the PS4 version of the Scarlet Nexus demo but I found it rather a chore to be honest @TraCuz- with the camera and lock on attacks not working correctly at all for me. Really didn't like how the girl character played either with her long range style of gameplay.

Can't say I'm too excited about Arise either. I played Xillia ages back and thought it was ok I suppose but had no desire to rush out and play more of the series.

Unfortunately though I tried the Berseria demo on PS4 a couple weeks back to get familiarise myself with the tales style of gameplay again and didn't like what I played in the slightest.

So I'll be giving Arise as wide a berth as I can. Hopefully you, and all the other tales fans (or interested parties), end up liking Arise when it comes out though! 😁

@colonelkilgore I’d say that neither DLC is particularly critical storywise. The AWE content has a call back to Alan Wake, which I never played, so it probably didn’t have as big an impact to me from a narrative point of view. I mostly enjoyed the new enemies and puzzles and a new weapon it has available. The Foundation was deemed the weaker of the two critically, but I found it to be the better as far as adding a small narrative expansion and a nice new setting. Without spoiling anything, it does seem to be a nice segue into a potential sequel.

@Th3solution I never played Alan Wake either but would definitely play it if Remedy released a remaster on PlayStation. Yeah, I think I’ll definitely have to play the dlc on my next playthrough, the game just clicked with me on so many levels I’d be doing it a disservice if I didn’t.

@Thrillho Nope I've probably got about 3-4 hours in it, most of that is Fort Condor 😂 no regrets

@Foxy-Goddess-Scotchy It is not just a PS4 thing, I was annoyed with that camera and lock on system as well on PS5. I'm personally not a huge Tales fan myself I just like the direction Arise seems to be heading in.

Played a bit of Crash Bandicoot from the N.Sane Trilogy. My first Crash experience and it has a been good fun so far. Will be a good game to dip into now and again if I need a break from whatever game I'm mainly playing.

Life is more fun when you help people succeed, instead of wishing them to fail.

I’ve just picked up a few of the old Housemarque games for that very reason (Resogun, Nex Machina and Matterfall).
