@Kidfried Yes, excellent choice for an Odyssey palate cleanser — Lost Legacy is fantastic and relatively short and doesn’t overstay its welcome in the slight. There is no bloat and the character driven narrative is in full force. Glad you’re enjoying it! (Take note @colonelkilgore , another Lost Legacy advocate!)

@Th3solution that 'loose' 2023 playthru can't come quick enough 😂

@Foxy-Goddess-Scotchy The first game is way harder than the others imo, although I did play it first so wasn’t used to the tactics yet. I did quite enjoy it though, other than the rubbish final boss. Should be interesting for you to revisit!

@MaulTsir I forgot to mention earlier, do you reckon there is any chance that they will scrap the multiple playthru requirements for the Mass Effect collrction plats? I'm kinda keen to playthru the trilogy again (never did finish 3 actually for some reason) but I certainly don't fancy playing through them all multiple times.

@Kidfried I've had Lost Legacy downloaded for ages but have still yet to play it. Maybe I'll give that a go if I ever finish Yakuza 5..

@Th3solution I just completed Chapter 7 Where they steal the crucifix from the auction just as Raife is about to win it and escape the compound in the car it's got a real Hollywood blockbuster feel to it, hasn't it, that game? That's what's always struck me about the Uncharted games, I'll have to go back to Lost Legacy after this as well.

@TheBrandedSwordsman Spot on — that’s a good description of the game (and the series in general). It’s like playing a Hollywood blockbuster. Replaying the first game currently, it isn’t nearly as pulse-pounding/ action movie like as the latter ones, especially 3 and 4. In 3 and 4 it just seemed that Drake was always having a platform dramatically collapse from under him, a handhold crumble unexpectedly, or some other bombastic surprise challenging event. In fact, I think they overdid it a touch and by the end I was just expecting whatever platform I jumped onto was going to crumble and I’d have to do some kind of button prompt quickly 😄

@colonelkilgore In regards to Mass Effect I would certainly hope they do get rid of the multiple playthrough requirements because they are releasing all 3 games at once and with out dlcs included your looking at 50+ hours each game that's a lot of play time. Although I haven't heard anything about the trophies for the game yet only that it was confirmed they have been totally re-worked for each game.

I've added dying light to my list after your recommendation I didn't realise there was a second so thats another one added to the backlog also 🤣

@RogerRoger that's good to here about your brother enjoying the ps3, everybody needs something to get them through this lockdown and gaming seems a great way. I agree also that its not such a bad thing about being behind like you say most games come out in bad shape and to be honest by I get around to them I'll get the patched version's which has probably enhanced my experience and probably a big reason why I've enjoyed alot of games that got bad press when they where first released.

@Th3solution @TheBrandedSwordsman That is a great description of the Uncharted series they all do feel like Hollywood Blockbusters.

And I agree that 4 went out of its way to have more explosiveness than the others, but I think it's common in sequels they always need to try an surprise you more, be more in your face even though the opposite happens because you almost always know what's coming because you've seen it all before 🤣 but I thought they were all just a lot of fun to play and the narrative always drove it forward. I'm really looking forward to getting around the the Tomb Raider Trilogy because I expect I'll enjoy them just as much

@MaulTsir Despite what my good friend @Th3solution said, I have read on another website that gamers believe to a large extent that the TR games are a rip-off of the UC games, so maybe do a bit more digging online for yourself, Maul, before investing your cash. I know I'll certainly be avoiding the Tomb games myself, based on my own research.

@MaulTsir cool, good news at the very least that they are looking to ‘rework’ the Mass Effect trophies... I actually think it could put most trophy hunters off if they have played the trilogy previously.

In regards to Dying Light 2 it’s been on the horizon for a long old while apparently... but there does seem to have been a raise in the overall ‘buzz’ recently and a release date of May 25th.

@TheBrandedSwordsman I wouldn’t call the TR clones of the Uncharted series... ironically Xbox fans used to refer to Uncharted as ‘Dude Raider’ as they mocked it as being a clone of Tomb Raider. I think neither are true though... yes the latest trilogy of Tomb Raider games are more ‘cinematic’ like the Uncharted games and less like the originals but they are still quite distinct. Also, they are somewhat more open world than the Uncharted games (well the original trilogy at least).

Both series are worthy of a gamers time imho.

@colonelkilgore Technically, there aren't any trophies for replaying the game.

There are trophies for ME2 and ME3 that say either complete the game twice or once with an imported character (weird as that was impossible in ME2 when it was released). The trophies for the top difficulty are the least commonly achieved but there are lots of combat related ones you may not hit on one play through.

Thrillho

psmr

@Thrillho yeah I just looked at the old lists again having read your post. It's seems that ME (1) is a minimum of 3 playthrus (probably due to choices options locking out stuff then maybe) but your right 2 & 3 are 'possible' with one playthru.

Maybe if they tweak the originals TL then I'd look to playthru them again.

@Th3solution I just completed Chapter 8 now exploring Avery's pirate cave and expecting to be in touch with a few more puzzles fairly soon

I've noted that a lot of the puzzles seem to be environment-based such as finding something to jump onto or hang from, rather than the one where

you have to line up the pinpoints of light to open the door in Avery's tomb.

@TheBrandedSwordsman I think that is very harsh to call the recent Tomb Raider games rip offs of the Uncharted games. Where did you see this information? Not to say the Uncharted games are bad but I much prefer the gameplay in the Tomb Raider games.

Modern Tomb Raider games are really good but for me they don't have the sheer polish of the Uncharted games, although SoTR has some stunning environments. I'm a fan of both though and have The Lost Legacy in my backlog and fancy I'll start it some time with the next couple of months. Speaking or which....

Yeah, I plan out when I will play certain titles and try to not mix two genres together i.e open world games. Sometimes these may overlap but generally I have a 'main' and then a secondary game to play when I or my PS4 need a break(it can sound very loud when trying to run a AAA game!).

I'm getting to the end of Act 3 of Ghost of Tsushima and resumed my playthrough of Shadow of War. Plan on starting something else once one is done, most likely Concrete Genie, and then replay Horizon Zero Dawn next month.

After that I have to play Lost Legacy, Final Fantasy VII and maybe Miles Morales although with the latter I may wait until I get a PS5. Those are the games I currently own and who knows what will be made available through PS Plus in the coming months.

@Col_McCafferty
Started Concrete Genie last Saturday morning. Completed it Sunday morning (including plat trophy). It's a charming little game but seriously took me around6-8 hours total so don't expect to spend too much time. In all honesty it's probably aimed at people decades younger than me but enjoyable nonetheless. Also it weirdly introduces combat relatively late in the game - around the last quarter or so, until then it's just painting, collectables and simple puzzles.
