#159 Death's Door (PS5)
I can't praise this game highly enough. Loved just about every moment of it. It was the exact thing I needed to play at this moment in time. Happy to challenge myself with a second - umbrella only run - which I actually found easier than the first at most points. If I'm right in thinking that the digital purchase got me both PS5 and PS4 versions with separate trophy lists then I may go do it all again in a few months time.
Without doubt my favourite game I've played this year.
About 23 hours over both runs.
And my tenth plat of the year so far.

@sorteddan Well done. I do like the look of that game and it has been on my watch list for a while but with it being on game pass then I'm kind of waiting for it to appear on PS+(+). 🙄😜
Are you going to be playing Tails of Iron next week? Another souls like but in 2D and featuring a rat not crow. Not sure whether the rat can wield a brolly.
That game has also been on my watch list.
cheers @CaptD
Wasn't planning on it, I haven't ever heard of Tails of Iron and tbh I generally steer well clear of games described as soulslike. Will probably check out a couple of reviews of it and may have to reassess my aversion to particular genres.

@sorteddan Congrats on the Deaths Door platinum. Your sentiments echo my own regarding that game. I went into my play through with the umbrella as a user on here had mentioned that was a trophy requirement and while I found it tough it wasn't crazy, but having tried the other weapons afterwards I realised how much less damage swinging a stick with a bit of cloth attached to it did to most enemies
@RogerRoger@render
Thanks guys.
I think I found the second run easier due to having knowledge of enemy attacks and the locations of all of the upgrade shrines so the Umbrella wasn't as limiting as I thought it might be.

Glad to hear about the positive WOM about MM. I like these shorter ‘budget’ AAA single player games I hope we can’t more of those in between the big blockbuster releases.
I will definitely finish off the DLC sometime soon (didn’t even know I owned it till I clicked on the DLC tab!), so I will be continuing my web slinging tales.

#58 Hoa - Started this ages ago with the kids and we totally forgot about it because of getting into Hogwarts. I think @Jimmer-Jammer, who I don't think has been posting lately, originally recommended this to me so thanks Jimmer. Even though it wasn't at all taxing it had a very emotional ending and was a perfect little indie game.
@AgentCooper Nice work on the Tekken 7 platinum, probably 1000% times more taxing than the one I just popped 😅
@render I’ve mentioned the umbrella thing to people as it’s easy to miss! I didn’t find playing with just that too bad as I didn’t know any better I think the end game stuff you can use anything though so at least I got to try out other weapons.
But I’m glad you enjoyed it @sorteddan and hopefully those pesky collectible trophies weren’t too problematic. How did you find the endgame stuff though?
@Thrillho
Well I had explored fairly thoroughly so collectables weren't too bad, though I did scour just about every part of the cemetery to find the last seed which then turned out to be in the cave leading to a other area. As for the other stuff I just went back through the glowing red doors and found it all pretty easily. I will admit I had no idea what was going on with the glowing purple ghosts when I first encountered them!
@AgentCooper
Thanks and congrats on your recent one-two punch combo there.
@render
Yeah think I did that one as well. Just a pleasant little stroll of a game. Well done.

@AgentCooper Congrats on ZA4 platinum, almost as good as cherry pie.
Well done on Tekken, I don't think I will ever have the skills to platinum a fighting game.
@render Nice work on Hoa, a family joint effort as well.
1 year and 2 days after I got my first trophy on the game I popped that plat. Didn't play it seriously and over the course of the year it says my play time is about 40 hours with the kids playing it alot at times as well. A really good chill game and all trophies do come naturally although I imagine with a boost you can get them done really easily.
It's been a while since I've gotten the Platinum trophy in a game. I was surprised to see that Astro's Playroom had one and it wasn't that difficult to obtain. It doesn't hurt either that the game is so much fun to play that I didn't mind spending extra time unlocking those last trophies. Great game!
Is it just me or has it been a really productive week from the Push Square Platinum Popping Posse?
...
Well I thought I'd install the PS4 version of Death's Door to check it was a different version with a separate trophy list...then I thought we'll I may as well do the first, tutorial bit...then I thought I might as well beat the first area and boss... then...
#160 Death's Door (PS4)
All trophies in one run. 8:33:15 according to the game counter
“We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be.”
@sorteddan All trophies in one run - the stuff dreams are made of. I've had Death's Door on my wishlist for ages, reading your comments has cemented my opinion that it's a game I'd definitely enjoy. Need to get around to it soon.
Good job, Parappa. You can go on to the next stage now.
@LtSarge Astro uses the activity cards really well to help with those last few collectibles etc too. I think they’ve been a great, but under-utilised, addition to the console.
Platinum #130 - Deathloop - the worst ‘perfect 10’ I ever played! Not terrible, actually half-decent by the conclusion but no way near the gushing general consensus poured all over it by the majority of gaming journos.
Platinum #131 - Journey to the Savage Planet - decent little indie… a bit like an overground Subnautica. Some nice metroidvania mechanics for traversal etc too, well worth the couple of quid I spent on it during one sale or another.
A shout out to @CaptD for the help with the online trophies on the two games above 👊👊.
Platinum #132 - Far Cry: New Dawn - loved it tbh… not quite the game Far Cry 5 is but still very good (& the rank 3 expeditions in particular are Far Cry at its best).
Couple of side notes… first that’s 100 plats since I joined Push Square a little over 2 years ago.
Second, that keeps my average up of 3 plats per month for the first 4 months of 2023… now I can start chipping away at a couple of real time-intensive platinum trophies for May.
