@Kidfried Totally agree about trophy lists requiring more effort from the player, I think RE4 remake requires numerous playthroughs but RE games are so replayable that things like knife only runs are pretty fun. Dead space is similar in that regard.
However permadeath trophies can do one, Wolfenstein 2 perma was a mistake, you had to do it in one run (no saves) and the game was prone to crashing and other bugs.
Naughty dog (who I slagged off earlier) has one (no spoilers) in Last of us 2 but thankfully it can be chapter based which is just as well because on my permadeath run I had to jump across a gap so just as in real life I took a couple of steps back for a run up and just as I was jumping my companion AI did the jump (he came running out of nowhere) and knocked me sideways to my death. It was quite hilarious and I still have the video.
@Kidfried congrats on Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order… I agree tbh, a decent game that I feel got a tad more love than I personally thought it warranted (but we all like different things). I also agree about trophy lists that require a bit more effort than the usual. I can only muster the effort needed for really demanding platinums a few times a year… but theyre always the ones I remember for sure.
No real updates on the platinum front. I decided to play a couple Yakuza games so I could know more of the story before LAD 8. So I finished 1 and am on chapter 13 for 2.
I decided to take a detour and do Haruka’s requests in Y2 because I’m going for the platinum eventually. I thought it’d be a nice change of pace but I was dead wrong. I have 9 requests left.
Currently, I’m wasting my night away with Karaoke. I did Haruka’s song with a score of 92.1 and the 2nd with 89.4. Unfortunately, I found out the hard way that the 2nd song only matters for her request. So I have to sit through her first song then try my attempt in the 2nd only to keep failing by little to nothing. Such a struggle. Damn you Haruka!
@CWill97 I’m yet to play Yakuza Kiwami 2 but remember how difficult I found getting the required karaoke scores on the original Yakuza Kiwami, so good luck. At least there is no ridiculously difficult car chase sequence on Legendary difficulty in the sequel though… memories of that still has me waking up in the midfle of the night drenched in a cold sweat 😅
@colonelkilgore it’s funny you mentioned the car scene. That part made the decision not to platinum Y1 for me. I could barely complete it on NG, I can’t imagine how bad it’d be on Legendary.
Luckily, Yakuza 2 seems a bit easier. I just finished all of Haruka’s Requests. I still have 6 songs with karaoke to get to 90 but I’ll do that later. Now I’m onto Chapter 14. Still haven’t touched cabaret club & clan creator. I’ll do those on a rainy day because I feel like they’ll be fun. Well, at least cabaret will if it’s anything like Y0.
#56 - Hunt Showdown. Not the platinum I was expecting to pop next and probably not even the platinum I deserve. As a proper live service game it’s not something I expected to enjoy but there’s something about this game they nailed. It’s a real roller coaster of an experience too. It’s been the most fun I’ve had with any game before, but also the most annoyed and frustrated I’ve been too.
One of the great things about the game is its mixture of PvP and PvE elements. Either of those things can totally change how the game is going in a moment. You can have taken down the boss, got the bounty and be waiting for extraction only for another team to suddenly show up and kill you all. Equally you can easily die to something environmental in a careless moment where you meet a pack of hell hounds.
While you can play solo the best moments I’ve had is playing as a trio and I couldn’t have bagged this platinum without the elite hunter squad of Kairu (who’s not on the forum anymore) and @nitram2k11. I’ve lost count of the number of times one of those guys saved the day but hopefully I’ve reciprocated the odd time or two 😅
@render congrats dude, glad you pushed on to finish off the headshot requirement etc. So annoying when a game doesn’t let you track how much of something you’ve achieved so far when a trophy requirement just gives the final goal. Kudos for getting there though 👍
Another one out of the backlog! I got it at release, but dropped it for some reason.
I don’t think it hit the heights of Arkham Asylum (& knight) for me, but it’s up there.
Wasn’t a fan of the stealth missions or the QTEs, so I hope they address that in the sequel.
I’ve still got the DLC to play & Miles Morales, but I’ll probably save that for closer to Spider-Man 2 release.

@Kidfried@Fight_Teza_Fight Congrats on the Jedi and Spidey platinums. It's been a while since I played either but I enjoyed both of those games and I can't say I'm really a Star Wars or Spider-Man fan at all.
@render Congrats on a very rare platinum indeed, glad I could play a small part in your road to the Plat, the game really is good fun when you have an awesome squad of buddies (not sure I'd class myself as elite mind) and I must admit I got far more out of it than I expected when picking it up randomly in a sale!
Well done @Fight_Teza_Fight for going back to finish it off
I agree about the stealth parts being a bit of a put off.
MM is a much more streamlined experience and arguably better for it.

#57 - Zombie Army 4. Brilliant brilliant game. Rebellion do so many things right and considering they aren't a massive studio that's saying something. Their games always have a similar feel to them but also manage to feel different at the same time. Couple that with a great sense of humour and that's something special.
Thanks to @AgentCooper and @colonelkilgore for your time to go through the coop and horde trophies and a second thanks to AgentCooper for the tip on the quick levelling which meant I could rattle through those last levels to avoid the grind. It was a hell lot of fun playing this with you guys!
@RogerRoger@CaptD Thanks guys and CaptD, I forgot to mention you previously when I said thanks to the other guys but thanks for the help with the coop campaign. It was early on for me but I think it was probably at the end of your run to the platinum, you just smashed this one 👍
