@colonelkilgore It really has that "oh it's not by the guy we like" vibe from the fandom which created this narrative that Dark Souls 2 is really bad but man, there's so many cool bits. I think it has the best final boss of a Souls game. I love the Looking Glass Knight too. The Giant. It's great!
Seriously, I’ll see how I feel after DS1. If the world was out on pause and all I had was time and money then I’d definitely play the series in order. Unfortunately, the laws of nature rule.
Speaking of playing the whole series…
Life is Strange 2 and True Colors are also on deck at some point for me. Really liked the first two. Is the platinum “missable” on either game? If memory serves, the other two games had easy platinums but weren’t quite “automatic” like the Telltale fare. Yet, you had to almost be lazy to not get all the chapter collectibles with a little effort. How do LiS2 and TC compare trophy-wise?
“We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.”
@Th3solution I totally get you dude… and fit in what you can (and want of course). Us From-stans just feel obligated to stand against all this unwarranted DS2 hate is all 🤣
@Th3solution True Colors is like the original game. There's no choice specific trophies, there's just trophies for beating the episodes with no mind given to how you beat them. Then there's the collectables in each chapter and also side quests. Side quests is probably overdoing it. It's like go to a place and talk to someone kinda thing. They take seconds. You can't miss any of these - I think - because you can get them all in collectable mode.
2 I'm not sure about because I only played it once. I think it's the same. I got the platinum in it and I definitely didn't play it twice and I didn't use a guide so I think it's just like the others.
@Kairu Only if you’ve got time to rattle through it with me, otherwise I’ll still be going next month 😂
I’m so close to the end of the dungeons now. I got the final 3 ritual bloods I needed for the Great Pthumeru Ihyll Chalice Dungeon at lunch and made a start on it but got slapped by the layer 1 boss and then had to go back to work. Be a fun one to do later 😉
I had a rare weekday off today and had the house to myself (even rarer) so I decided to get some gaming done. One of the games I wanted to play (besides finishing Crash 4, and starting Spyro 3 and Blasphemous) was to have a quick go on GTA Vice City to see how it holds up.
Out of curiosity I looked up when it was released because I remember it being this time of year, and it was twenty years ago today that it released in Europe. Couldn't let that go unmarked, so I drove about until the trophy for listening to all radio stations popped. I may or may not have sung along to some of the songs.
Good job, Parappa. You can go on to the next stage now.
Well managed to finish off Bloodborne for #50 so turned out it was a special one all along. Great game and has to be my favourite FS game so far. Was also enjoyable to play the majority of this one coop which is a first for me.
Enormous shoutout to @Kairu and @nitram2k11 who have my thanks for both introducing me to the game and also helping me through some tricky encounters in double quick time. Kairu appears to be the BB oracle with some amazing ability to remember virtually all aspects of this game. I’m not sure I can do that with any game I’ve ever played. Only gutted that I missed one DLC trophy for some bizarre reason so will have to play a little more in NG+ to bag that 100%, but I’m sure I can manage that 😀
@render big congrats buddy, that’s a great one for #50. Elden Ring temporarily superseded it for me (with a bit of recency-bias) as my fave game of all-time… but as soon as the r-b wore off BB returned to that number one spot… which is quite apt actually, as was my plat #1 too.
@colonelkilgore Cheers man, it feels like a good one and I can see why that spurred you on to wanting to go for other platinums. I love that this is so a souls game under the hood however because of it's setting it feels different. Where this edges it over ER for me is the boss fights are just that little more epic and I think I prefer the wide linear format. It gives you a certain amount of freedom to do things in a different order and generally get lost whilst also managing to keep you going in the right direction where everything is so vague. Doesn't mean I didn't enjoy ER, just spent a lot more time getting lost 😅
@Kairu Oh there were plenty of times when you saved my ass for sure. Because of the way the coop works I always felt bad when I died as you guys had to go through the pain of reconnecting but it feels like that should be the Bloodborne way 🤣
Those DLC bosses were awesome. I still can't believe that I managed to get through that Lady Maria fight first time when I couldn't ring the bell to start coop. I was getting slapped around left right and centre and was hanging on by the skin of my teeth.
@render A Call Beyond was absolutely insane against some of those chalice dungeon bosses. Insane damage! @nitram2k11 You fellas should get Sekiro done first! 😏
Absolutely not!
If you don't like it, don't play it, and shut yo damn mouth
