Congrats @nessisonett… and in regards to finding work, have you considered applying at Legoland? 😉

Platinum no. 37 (and 4th for 2022) — Guardians of the Galaxy.

Great game and reasonable platinum. I only had to use a guide for a couple of the more annoying trophies, but it’s pretty achievable without much help. For me the worst trophy was the “Set ‘em up, Knock ‘em down” for finishing off a staggered enemy with a charged shot. I had to reload a few encounters a few times because I’d inevitably miss the short window to finish them off because the charged shot was so finicky to pull off and my companion AI would come in and kill the enemy before I could. 😅

As far as more expanded thoughts on the game itself, I posted them over on the Game Club thread (and the pet peeve thread 😛)

@Th3solution congrats buddy. Yeah, I think I had to do the same in regards to the Set ‘em up, Knock ‘em down trophy myself actually 🤔.

Lavalera

@Th3solution Congrats on the Guardians plat. The game was a bit rough on the edges on certain parts but an entertainable game nonetheless.

@nessisonett Nice work on another lego platinum.

@Th3solution Good work on that Guardians platinum too. I really enjoyed the game and thought the requirements for the plat weren't too bad. Annoyingly I'd missed some things that you couldn't use chapter select to get so ended up doing another play through but still enjoyed it a second time.

Platinum #98 - God of War 3: Remastered - was a great send off to the Greek saga of games and the most enjoyable by a decent margin if I’m honest. That’s the plats for the whole series done… just in time to have a wee break from Kratos to ensure that I’ll be fully refreshed and eager to jump back in come November.

@Th3solution Another GotG platinum, congrats !

@colonelkilgore I definitely agree, GoW 3 is by far the best in the series. It's so epic from beginning to end ! Congrats for the plat.

#335 Ape Escape - A bit of nostalgia with this one ! I remember I loved this game as a kid, as it's one of the very good platformers of the PS1 era. It's full a great ideas, but today it's spoiled by the awful controls : the control scheme doesn't make any sense, the camera is bad even for a PS1 game, and worst of all, this emulated version has bugs. There's a huge latency in the right stick, when it does work at all, and the character cannot run straight. When the stick is up, he's stuck on walking. I don't need to explain how much of a pain it is in the races... In conclusion, I didn't really enjoy it but this is the PERFECT candidate for a well-made remake. This is a great game at core.

@colonelkilgore Congratulations buddy.

Out of curiosity did you get the plat for GoW 1&2 as well? If so what did you think of the challenge of God's and Titans?

@Cornaboyzzz congrats on yet another buddy, I’m gutted for you that it didn’t live up to your memories.

psmr

Cheers @The_Moose yeah I’ve got the complete set of plats now, including Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta. I remember finding some of the Challenges on the early games (GoW, GoW2 and the two psp games) being a lot more difficult than those on GoW3. I can’t remember which game had the hardest challenges… but I remember in the original that you had to get through all the challenges in one sitting as they didn’t save 😅

The_Moose

Yeah I remember playing the trials on GoW 2 being a massive pain, especially the one where you had to keep the civilian in the circle and protect him.

I also remember the forums about GoW 1 saying how hard the challenges were but never really had an issue personally, maybe I was just lucky.

Great games though.

@The_Moose yeah you just caused me a flashback about protecting a civilian… yeah I think that one was an issue.

Thanks @ThereThere, I know you have a lot on the go right now but I honestly couldn’t recommend God of War (2018) any higher. If you’re ever at a loss for something to play it should be your first port of call.

@colonelkilgore @ScarletSpidey @Comaboyzzz Congrats on your latest haul, good work all 👍

I polished that speedrun on Stray this morning to add #47 to my collection. A great little game and was actually fun running through it at speed again even if it's unrealistic as a real cat would have been distracted by anything that moved on the way.

Wow there's been a lot of activity on here recently so a massive well done to all of you
@ScarletSpidey @WCB @nessisonett @Th3solution @colonelkilgore @Cornaboyzzz @render
And apologies if I missed anybody there!

And just so my plat club membership doesn't get revoked...
#136 Lost Words: Beyond the Page (meh!)
#137 Lego Batman 3 -inspired by Ness' recent achievements. Pretty much what your expect from a Lego game. Enjoyable DC stuff if a little grindy doing all the post game stuff.

And that puts me on 36 for the year which was my target at the outset (average of 3 per month) so I'm gonna give up now and just play FIFA and Warframe again for the next few months...
... But not really!

@sorteddan congrats buddy on hitting your 12 month plat target over 4 months early! Anyone else might suggest that you have a problem… not me like but anyone else 😉
