Just got platinum (#88) for Prey on PS4. Pretty good game, kinda like a bioshock/deux ex mash up on a spacestation. Took around 40-45 hours with two playthroughs and a little bit of save scumming for otherwise missable trophies. I would recommend it just for the tension & apprehension of the first few hours when mimics seem to jump out at you from everywhere.
@Thrillho
Good work on the Control shiny. Like most others I also really enjoyed that in all its weirdness a few months back. Also appreciated that you didn't have to get 100% of the stuff for collectables trophies if I recall correctly.
@Sorteddan I know you said it was maybe a 6 or 7 out of 10 the other day… does that stand or did your rating change at all during the course of your playthrough?
I remember it seemed to get really average reviews on its release but seems to have really grown in people’s opinions (a lot of the Youtubers I watch) over the last few years it has been out. I really enjoyed the Dishonored games, so I’m quite curious to give it a go.
@colonelkilgore
I would stick with that, probably go for a 7. It's pretty good but not great. Exploring is interesting but it maybe drags a bit towards the end. Enemies are fairly menacing but once you upgrade enough they merely slow you down rather than challenge you, also they respawn in areas you previously cleared and as ammo is hard to come by/create and the game involves a bit of backtracking you are just as well running past them as taking them down.
I enjoyed the first play, head down grinded the second and was glad to see the final trophies pop so I can move into something else.

Returnal plat! 54 hours into it and I only understood around half of it!

@Iver congrats and that’s a fair assessment. Jin isn’t exactly oozing with personality. But I grew to like and appreciate him. Great and beautiful game, though, as you say. And well worthy of a sequel.
@Just_2_milky Congrats on the Returnal plat. Yeah - 54 hrs is pretty good. I am quite a few collectibles shy of the platinum and have close to 80 hrs invested.

I'm stuck on getting the last few, one of which is finishing the final knitted knight trial in a reasonable time. I've watched a few videos and don't seem to be able to pull of some of the amazing moves that some do.
@render Have you made it to the end yet? When I finally made it, I was surprised to find that time wasn't as much of a factor as I thought it would be. You can definitely get away with taking it slow in places.
My advice would be to practice the trials individually and work out which ones you're better at, and allow yourself some extra time on your trickier ones. Then put it all into practice on the big one. You'll get it eventually - after all, you've already completed them, so you've got it in your locker.
@Gremio108 I've done each of the trials individually and have got gold on pretty much all of them I think but just struggle to chain it together into one long run. I then probably got put off by watching some videos of other peoples runs and thought that time was going to be really difficult to make. Sounds like I just need to go back and try to put it altogether into a run again.
I'm at 90% on the trophies so just have that one and the one to high five another player, which I somehow missed doing, and I'm there. I really want to get it as I love the game and if I don't do it then it will irk me somewhat. Probably not as much as being as close to getting the The Witness platinum but still quite a bit 😂
@render Yeah, juat concentrate on getting through it and the time factor will take care of itself. For example, I'm terrible at the bit with the giant rotating platforms, so I just stood still and waited for the right time to jump rather than try and keep jumping about everywhere. Once you've practiced at your weakest trials you'll be able to string it all together no problem.
I say "no problem", it took me a whole weekend to beat! Just try and enjoy the struggle, because it leaves you with a weirdly empty feeling when you've finally done it. And high-fiving another player will be a good way to get the platinum!
Good job, Parappa. You can go on to the next stage now.
@Gremio108 Good advice, cheers. I think I'll start having a quick go at the each of the trials again through the week and then try and get this done one weekend as well. I feel the same way every time I get a platinum, like I was expecting something super exciting to happen but it never does.
@render I sometimes get a washed-out feeling when I get a platinum. It's usually the games I've enjoyed most and I think it's because I've put so much of myself into it, and now it's over. Sounds strange I know, but I think there's something in it.
I've enjoyed Sackboy so much that I'll probably keep playing it for a bit. I got the final dreamer orb the other day. I'm considering 100%-ing all levels, including ace-ing them, but that might be a bit much...
Good job, Parappa. You can go on to the next stage now.
