@Keith_Zissou As I played 5 first (never intended to play any of the others) I ended up playing them in a wacky order… so I went MGSV, MGS:PW, MGS3 and MGS. I have MGS2, MGS4 and MGRising left in that order. Hoping to get them all done by the end of the year is poss.

Big fan of Death Stranding too, how you finding it?

Finally managed to get my 20 online wins for 'Human Lover' in Wreckfest which meant I only needed to level up a couple more times and the Plat was finally done. It was another fun game that I never would have probably tried if not for being on Plus so I brought a couple of DLC cars part way through to give some extra support to the devs.

That meant since my last update I've got the following Platinums
#72 - ME1
#73 - ME2
#74 - Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart
#75 - Wreckfest

I'm still playing ME3 so that platinum shouldn't be too far off. Maneater has replaced Wreckfest as my something quick to mess about with when I don't have long and I believe that's a fairly simple platinum
so might be next.

@BearsEatBeets Good work.

Maneater is easy but a bit of a pain at times. I still never quite figured out how to make the ranked human enemies enemies appear. At least finding collectibles isn’t too hard.

@Thrillho Cheers, I'm not doing too bad with it but feel I've reached a point where I need to be able to take on high level alligators or grouped lower ones and I'm having to swim away to stay alive. Think I'm going to have to keep chipping away at lower fish to try and level up. I'm guessing I will be able to leap higher out of the water when I switch to Adult shark (level 8 at mo) as I've found plenty of collectibles but can't reach them.

@Keith_Zissou yeah the story in 3 was so good. I think V will remain as my favourite due to how it plays... but narratively 3 was a world apart.

Death Stranding provides some moments that are really chilled... as well as some odyssey-like journeys into the unknown. Really liked the setting, themes and story too. Hope you enjoy.

@BearsEatBeets Yeah, as you get bigger you can jump higher so will have to leave a lot of collectibles until late on. Jumping high was another mechanic I seemed to fudge rather than fully understand how to do.

I found I ended up doing the same for the bigger early fights of attacking and then running (swimming) away to get health and going again. It gets much easier once you start unlocking extra abilities too; I was a big fan of the electric attacks in particular.

@colonelkilgore Thanks. Respect for your Last of Us platinum. That game had one of my lowest trophy counts for a game I actually finished. I think I had about 5% or something. Got some more with the remaster but don’t think it was much more but never touched the multiplayer.

@Thrillho Good to know, I’ll ignore the plates for a while then and just chip away at levelling up.

@BearsEatBeets yeah I think I had around 3% completion the first time I played it through back in 2015. Going back through it was definitely worthwhile though, really enjoyed both extra runs,

Platinum - 56 - Just Cause 3 - just some of the most fun I’ve had gaming for a while… and I reckon must be pretty much the perfect palette-cleanser sandwiched between The Last of Us: Remastered and The Last of Us part 2. Little bit of trouble getting the Chaos Millionaire trophy to pop but it seems to be a pretty common problem. Ultimately I had to go 15,000 chaos points over the 1000,000 target but it eventually popped. I have a feeling that it only registers points earned while logged into the ‘temperamental’ Square Enix servers… so if you get logged out at all (which happens a lot) quickly log back in if you aim to earn this.

And @Thrillho @RogerRoger getting five gears on all those challenges (particularly the wingsuit variety) was a genuine challenge (some of the plane and land races similarly). They were a great diversion from the main gameplay loop though and really (REALLY) got the adrenaline flowing when you could ‘feel’ you were in a perfect run.

Underrated gem of the PS4 generation for me!

@colonelkilgore I have Just Cause 3 and Just Cause 4 in my library through PS Plus. I’ve never played a JC game. Is JC3 a decent place to jump into the series? I know JC4 seemed to be the lesser of the the two in terms of quality, but I wonder if it would really resonate with me. I don’t have it on my list to play, but your praise has be second guessing that.

@Th3solution yeah Just Cause 3 would be a fine place to start the series buddy as the story is of minimal importance. I’m yet to play Just Cause 4 but as you’ve mentioned JC3 is considered the better game (I’ve played the first two and it’s definitely better than those… though I loved JC2) too.

I’m gonna post a review of Just Cause 3 relatively soon, so definitely have a read of that if you want to properly set your expectations… and if you’re still interested after I’ve gone into the various gameplay mechanics and loops etc. I’d wholeheartedly recommend it.

@Th3solution JC3 was the first game in the series I played after it was a freebie. Plot is not exactly the game’s strong point so don’t worry about that!

Thrillho

Th3solution

@colonelkilgore sounds good. I’ll look forward to that review.

Part of me wants to not be interested in the game because I have a load of backlog yet to play 😅. But actually, I think the series also genre is something new for me to try and new types of games is something that I like to throw in the mix, which new types of things I’ve not yet experienced are hard to come by at this point in my gaming life.

@Th3solution Just Cause 2 is the high point of the series imo. 3 is a decent game but didn’t grab me the same way.

graymamba

@Thrillho cheers bud, it was tough going to be honest but I'll miss playing it for sure.

@nessisonett I do know what you mean, Panau was such an awesome setting and Baby Panay a great antagonist but while those things (& the main missions) were better than those of Just Cause 3 the wingsuit in particular, the tether versatility and also the various challenges available 'just' swing it for me.

@colonelkilgore Yeah, the wingsuit was a really great addition but I didn’t find that the environments were as interesting and didn’t really give you as many opportunities to create your own fun. 3 felt slightly ‘checklisty’ at times.

graymamba

@nessisonett I get you, I don’t have that ‘check-list’ aversion that afflicts most people though… hence the amount of Ubisoft games I own 😉.

Temet Nosce

nessisonett

@colonelkilgore Yeah, I say stuff about checklists despite having completed 11 Assassin’s Creed games since last September including 4 platinums 😂

Just popped #100!!!! Went with Borderlands 3 since BL1 was actually my first Plat and BL2 was number 50 lol. Funny how it worked out like that, on to the next milestone!
