@RogerRoger ah that's fair enough, I more appreciate the creativity in cadence, alliteration and rhythm that swearing affords. Well most language can be used that way, but extra tools are welcome! Having said that, I do use swearing for its perceived intended effect as well, like if I I need to shut a conversation down for my own sanity.

But yeah, home space and around appropriate company (also in entertainment) are the only places where strong language should be used. I don't think anyone should walk in to McDonalds and demand a mother fudging cheeseburger, y'know, unless you are Samuel L Jackson in Pulp Fiction 😂. It's just about doing what's appropriate for the situation, as usual!

Edit: I should add that I really like the creativity that family friendly substitutes can afford too!

@RogerRoger melon farmers! 😂 That's brilliant!

I remember being at work once and hearing this guy tearing into people. I turned around and looked and it was literally some old guy addressing about 50 people. It was like a stand up performance, he just tore into everybody one by one and everyone was creasing up. It was certainly a sight to behold!

I think I'm 99% ok with no swearing on the forums, it would be a free for all if not. I know it sounds a bit weird but I'm more creative with criteria. A blank canvas is dauntingly impossible but a list of objectives I can check off (more or less) in anyway I want is a liberating challenge!

@Bentleyma- Great game. That opening is wonderful and then that ending is a real doozy too!

@Bentleyma- Wow, I regret selling back my copy several years ago. Great game though.

Th3solution

@Bentleyma- RDR is one of my all-time favorite games. The second one is objectively a better game overall, but I think I enjoyed the first one more. I think it just hit me at a certain time in my life. Marston is a character who is relatable and his of redemption story had me engaged all the way through to the epic ending.

Have you played RDR2?

“We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.”

Th3solution

@Bentleyma- Same here. I actually really liked Arthur Morgan too and after playing RDR2, I liked him more than John Marston. But taken in a vacuum, the Marston in the first game was the better protagonist just because I liked his plight better and the ending was amongst the best game endings I’ve ever played.

@XandertheWise Oh how I wish I wasn't an idiot and sold my PS3 back when I got the PS4. I would love to play MGS4 again at some point, and an unfinished Final Fantasy 13 all these years has haunted me on my trophy list.

@Bentleyma If I could go back in time, I'd join the opinion of @Iver. I was an idiot then and cared more about trying to save money on the PS4. I know it sounds silly for me saying it was dumb to want to save money, but given that the only other option to play PS3 games is streaming them, having one is a necessity if you still want to play anything from that generation that didn't get a remastered release (which obviously a lot didn't).

At some point, I might spend some time and really go through the eBay auctions to find an actual good used one (it's not easy, but it's possible). Not right now as I have plenty to play on my PS5, but maybe at some point I'll take the time to try to find one, which will likely take a while as there's a lot of them on there and I will only get one that is in solid condition.

@Kidfried Yeah, it's a shame that Sony is far less concerned with backwards compatibility and all that than Microsoft, but that's a story that's already been discussed dozens of times.

That person's great list is a prime example of why it would be a good thing to have a PS3 if you have the time to use it. Maybe someday again.

I'm really glad that I still have my PS3 and that it works. I had an issue with it a couple of years ago where I put it in a spot with poor air circulation and it overheated. For a period, most of the time when I turned it on it would just shut down instantly. I solved this issue after some time and now I'm very grateful that it works. There are still so many games I have on it that I want to play. Recently I've been contemplating on playing titles from the Sega Mega Drive Ultimate Collection. Apparently there are some that aren't on the most recent Mega Drive collection on current systems, such as Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Sonic & Knuckles and the two Ecco the Dolphin games. So I'm glad that I can still play those games.

@Bentleyma
My PS3 games are keep growing.
I have collected 41 PS3 games by January 2022 since i started to build again my PS3 games from December 2019.
Ni no Kuni was the 41st PS3 game i bought last 3 January 2022 after i have ever owned it on year 2013 but i have to sell it on year 2015 due to financial crisis.
And don't worry, all my PS3 games are for kids (Everyone, Everyone 10+, PEGI 3, PEGI 7, PEGI 12 games only) with very few Teen games (The Sims 3, The Sims 3 Pets, FF XIII)

Edit: I have Trio Trilogy PS3 games as well (Ratchet & Clank Trilogy, Sly Cooper Collection, Jak & Daxter Collection)

Risen 2: Dark Waters, my first Piranha Bytes game. I'm also tempted to play Dynasty Warriors 7 again.

@Bentleyma @RogerRoger when I made my list of interesting looking games on the PS3 store (pre shutdown reversal), Rain was on there. It's something I'll probably buy when cash flow is less tight.

Definitely seemed like it might be worth it for the 8 or so quid it costs. Even if it is basic, it looks like a somewhat unique experience that was exclusive to the PS3 store
