@psmr Holy heck, under ten hours to complete Dragon Age II...?! Even knowing what you're doing and ignoring side stuff, that feels like you borderline speed-ran the whole thing! Belated congratulations, and I hope your OCD was sufficiently satisfied by your efforts!

@Werehog cheers buddy, yeah ocd sufficiently satiated. As I mentioned back a week or so back, I really quite dnjoyed DA2… your post made me think about it again and I really liked a lot of the characters amongst your party. I actually think it may have superseded DA: O in that regard.
@psmr Agreed, the supporting cast was much stronger second time around. I think that's why some folks didn't like it so much, they prefer all that fantasy lore and world-building and whatnot, whereas I always prefer a character-driven focus. Each to their own, though! Should you ever play The Veilguard, rest assured that its platinum is a lot more straightforward, and only requires one playthrough!

I have world cup fever so I broke out 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa for the PS3. I was surprised by how well it still holds up and in terms of the commentary is probably better than the likes of FC26.
The team selection screen is fantastic - you move a cursor around the globe to find the team you want to play as but you can also play that nations national anthem from this screen.
You can play through a full WC campaign with qualifying which I am doing at the moment with Ireland but there's also Captain Your Country mode where you and up to 3 other players can control 1 player on the team.
There's also a mode where you can re-write history. For example with Ireland you can try and beat France after Henry's famous handball.
I have a DualSense connected to the PS3 via a Brook Wingman XE2 and it feels really good to play. I'll keep this one up for the next few weeks.
With GTA6 preorders up, I decided to throw in GTA4 (the BEST GTA game don't @ me) and am enjoying my time with it. I've also been playing my modded version of UFC Undisputed 3 (UFC Undisputed Forever) which just so happens to be the best MMA game ever.
I've been seeing some videos pop up in my YT feed about the Mojang auto-ban debacle currently going on, and having recently set up my slim PS3 again to play some older titles I thought I'd fire up Minecraft PlayStation 3 Edition.
I haven't played Minecraft in YEARS so it's actually not that jarring because I know there's been a lot of new content added (and I don't really get into PC mods at all) so I don't feel like it's a huge regression from how I remember the game.
It suits me fine - just having a cute little jaunt around, building things and farming stuff. Runs surprisingly rough though so I'm wondering if that's age or is there anything I can do with settings to prevent the chug as much as possible (perhaps it is that it wasn't ever really optimised that well for console?).
@Olskeezy I played Undisputed 1 and 2 and loved them. I was actually so hyped for the release of 2 but I remember at the time there was some sort of server check at the start screen before you got to the main menu and because the servers were overloaded for the first week or so, it actually took ages just to get to the main menu even if you wanted to play single player! Very frustrating. I bought 3 recently as I believe it's considered the best of the trilogy so I must give it a go.
@McSavage I was actually in a CAF league with the first Undisputed game. That was also the first and only time I every played online a bunch. Actually got into the top 20 worldwide at one point.
3's career mode really sets it apart. The variety in moves/transitions you can give to your character is pretty great. And the gameplay perfected THQ's formula.
@Olskeezy Fair play getting into the top 20. Great memories there by the sounds of it.
I must give Undisputed 3 a go so. I loved how you could get sponsored by fictional companies in the THQ umbrella. For example you could be sponsored by the Ultor corporation from Red Faction!
@McSavage Yes! Red Faction was one of the first PS2 games I ever owned. Loved it in high school.
Undisputed 3 is pretty unique in that you can actually get your fighter sponsored by real companies. Game was made when fighters could still put a bunch of logos on their attire. Still can't believe that isn't a thing any more.
Made a start on Lightning Returns (Final Fantasy XIII part 3) today and am a bit shocked by how different it is not gonna lie. I was aware of the time mechanic going in but it’s really stressing me out! 😅
Combat is so different from parts 1 and 2, which I’m not over the moon about as I really did like the way it worked before. The story seems interesting, with how it is incorporating the heroes from the first two games being set up in opposition. I’m sure they’ll end up resolving their differences and working together for the greater good… but a cool way of converging the two previous storylines nonetheless.
had to dig my playstation 3 out of the storage tub and hooked up my playstation 3 to my tv. thinking about replaying star wars force unleashed I and or II. one of those games has the Sith Starkiller Hoth DLC mission. might have to buy that DLC before the playstation 3 PSN store is gone or whatever next year
