Hi folks,

Wonder if someone could help with the following query / frustration. I’ve searched various blogs and threads but can’t find a clear solution, really appreciate someone’s time and expertise:

my set up:
I have one PS5 Console, with one main PSN account registered to myself. I then have three further users profiles added to the console.

I added the additional users several months ago (when I got the console) and ‘believe’ I added them as permanent users (but as they don't have a PS login I went with 'Skip and play offline'). Up to now this has worked really well. I’m the main user along with one of my kids. Everyone has use of the games I’ve purchased or downloaded and none of us play online.

Our favourite game has been Hogwarts Legacy. My kid has been wanting the Dark Arts Pack which I purchased over the weekend and downloaded. Works fine on my user profile but when switching to theirs, the DA pack is not present. We’ve both completed the main story line of the game so don’t believe it’s to do with something not being unlocked in the game progress.

Until now I thought DLC, once downloaded onto a game that other users already have access to, would be available for all.

Being a younger person they don’t have an email address so setting up a new PSN account isn’t possible unless we create them an email account and in any event, it feels like it should be easier than needing to do this? I see there’s a family manager setting but it feels like perhaps that’s what I should have done originally, and concerned if I do that now they’ll need new user profiles and will lose their progress on several other games (which they’re a long way into) not to mention all their trophies etc.

Hoping I’ve either got a setting wrong somewhere that someone can kindly point out, or I can now set up a family user and allocate this to their existing user profile (thereby maintaining its player history etc).

Apologies if it’s a dumb question with an obvious solution, I’ve spent ages looking and although I can find several references to this scenario I can’t see an actual clear solution.

“Really grateful” for advice. Otherwise a very happy PS5 user with a set up that is otherwise perfect. I’d just love to share the DLC of this game.

Thanks all and Happy New Year!

PS currently loving Outer Wilds. Also a great game… just on the very last bit to complete the game…!

This happened to me. I had to log into the PlayStation account in order for that profile to use it.

That user did happen to have their own ps account, so I logged in with that one.

Not sure if you can use the same account for that user, but it’s worth a try. I don’t think you will get it any other way.

Think DLC is user locked, isn't it?
