Luna Abyss PS5

$19.49/£16.24 (-35%)

Luna Abyss is a AA shooter that holds its own against some of the elite of the genre. Its enticing and ominous sci-fi world is a delight to look at artistically, even if its muddy graphics let it down on closer inspection. Its story is fine, but a slick sense of progression keeps its action and platforming interesting from start to finish.

Moss: Book II PS5

$9.99/£8.99 (-50%)

An early star of virtual reality was Moss, and this follow-up builds on those solid foundations. Moss: Book II continues the adventures of Quill, who now has access to multiple weapons to fend off enemies. They also play into the game's puzzles, which are larger in scope and more complex than the first game. It all looks wonderful too — the environments and character animations are gorgeous, and your unique perspective lets you get a really good look at these cutesy levels. It's not a massive departure from what came before, but this five-hour adventure is thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish.

Nidhogg PS4

$4.49/£3.59 (-70%)

Arguably still one of the best arcade multiplayer offerings in modern times, Nidhogg is beautifully simple and devilishly moreish. Two players face off in rapid sword fights, aiming to gain the ability to venture further towards their side of the multi-screen arena. The battle is over once a player reaches the titular creature. There are only a few maps, and only one mode to play, but there's just enough depth to the swordplay and the mind games that inevitably occur that ensure you and your pals will run it back again and again. It's hilarious, rage-inducing fun that never seems to get old.

Othercide PS4

$5.99/£3.74 (-80%/-85%)

While they share plenty of the same DNA, Othercide is much more than simply XCOM in eyeliner. Sacrificing warriors to boost the stats of other units proves a compelling and flexible mechanic, while the combat encounters ramp up in difficulty at mostly the right pace. A stunning aesthetic and perfectly complementary soundtrack are the icing on the cake, only occasionally marred by unfortunate technical difficulties.

Overcooked 2 PS4

$6.24/£4.99 (-75%)

The first game laid down rock solid foundations, and Overcooked 2 builds upon them to offer one of the best multiplayer experiences on PS4. It introduces the ability to throw and catch items, online play, and of course, plenty more chaotic levels to enjoy. The whole thing is a recipe for madness as you and your friends aim to coordinate in tightly designed kitchens to get out the right orders. A highly entertaining co-op game for all ages.

Owlboy PS4

$4.99/£3.59 (-80%)

Owlboy is a delightful game full to bursting with character. Otus’ bittersweet tale is engrossing, the supporting cast is consistently charming, and there’s an admirable level of polish across the board. From its stunning visuals and soundtrack to its fun, responsive gameplay, Owlboy is rock solid from top to bottom. It took them 10 years, but D-Pad Studio has created one of the best 2D adventure titles in recent memory.

Pac-Man 256 PS4

$1.99/£1.59 (-60%)

Free from the shackles of micro-transactions and limited credits on mobile, the console version of Pac-Man 256 is a fresh and expertly executed blend of the iconic coin-op game and the endless runner genre. The simple presentation and controls allow anyone to pick up a controller and know what to do, while the addition of power-ups and objectives provide a little more depth for die-hard fans to explore.

Paradise Killer PS5

$4.99/£3.99 (-75%)

If you're looking for something wildly different, Paradise Killer is a fantastic option. This game places you down on an open world island in order to solve the mystery surrounding a mass murder. The hook is that the end result is entirely of your making; you're free to explore, talk to suspects, and find evidence, with no hints other than your own discoveries. More than any other detective game, this one gives you total agency over the investigation and the trial that follows, with full responsibility for tracking down the truth resting with you. A fascinating, well-written game that oozes with style to boot — especially on PS5, where neat DualSense use and ray tracing bring the island alive.

Pepper Grinder PS5

$4.49/£2.59 (-70%/-80%)

Pepper Grinder has a super fun core mechanic, and it's fully explored within its refreshingly short runtime. It's an action platformer in which you use a large drill to navigate through certain surfaces, and it feels great to leap around like a power tool dolphin. With simple progression and a bunch of additional mechanics changing the gameplay up just enough, this short but sweet little game never outstays its welcome.

Persona 5 PS4

$5.99/£7.49 (-70%/-85%)

Persona 5 is the game responsible for catapulting Atlus' role-playing series into mainstream success. Unparalleled in terms of style, it's a landmark RPG that perfectly fuses its various gameplay elements together. It's worth noting, however, that the original Persona 5 has been made pretty much redundant by Persona 5 Royal — a greatly enhanced re-release that turns an already superb title into a true masterpiece.

Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven PS5

$24.99/£24.99 (-50%)

Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven boasts an expansive 3D world to explore, gorgeous character models and equipment, and compelling enemy designs. You can even choose between the original and a remastered orchestral score full of earworms from the glory days of the '90s. A remake of a classic JRPG many Western fans have missed, even three decades later, Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven's inventive mechanics make it a worthwhile experience.

System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster PS5

$16.49/£13.74 (-45%)

System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster is a fantastic way to revisit one of the most influential games ever made. Lightyears ahead of its time, some of its systems haven't aged well, making it frustrating at times. Still, with a compelling story and solid gameplay, and packed full of art and assets from development (not to mention scans of classic magazine write-ups, as well as a complete Prima strategy guide), it's well worth the time of any enthusiast.

Tactics Ogre: Reborn PS5
