End of Abyss PS5

End of Abyss looks like the sort of thing fans of Little Nightmares or Inside should be paying attention to. This is a creepy single player experience in which you enter a strange complex and must fight against unsettling horrors in its dingy corridors. It looks really atmospheric; I'm definitely interested to see what mysteries unravel from this one.

Stage Tour PS5

The glory days of Guitar Hero and Rock Band are long past, but developer RedOctane is bringing that era of rhythm games into the modern era with Stage Tour. The team is working on all-new guitar, drum, and microphone peripherals as well as the game itself, which features a replayable roguelike campaign mode as well as all the features you'd expect. If you've any love for these kind of musical titles, this will definitely be worth watching.

At Fate's End PS5

At Fate's End is the next game from the makers of Spiritfarer, which should be all you need to know to keep this on your radar. It's a side-scrolling action adventure in which you play as Shan, a young woman who's on a journey through a fantastical land to confront her estranged family members. Each one you face unlocks new skills and abilities, and of course there are emotional narrative threads to unpick as you go.

Chronoscript: The Endless End PS5

Chronoscript: The Endless End caught my eye with its unique art style, and I'm hoping it has the substance to match. The game is an action adventure about an editor who gets trapped inside a manuscript that continuously writes itself, meaning it has no end. To escape, you'll need to explore its pages in 2D, and the manor in which it sits in 3D. It seems ambitious — let's hope it can pull it off.

The Eternal Life of Goldman PS5

THQ Nordic announced this back in 2024, and it's looked utterly gorgeous right from the off. Featuring hand-drawn backgrounds and animation, The Eternal Life of Goldman looks like an action platformer magicked from a kid's storybook. Playing as an old man with an upgradeable cane, this surreal adventure already looks the part, and I'm really keen to learn whether its gameplay lives up to its wonderful art.

Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault PS5

The original Moonlighter was a great little indie game that had two addictive halves that complemented each other nicely. In Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault, it seems the game is building on what came before, and that includes the visuals, which jump from 2D pixel art to full 3D. Currently in early access, this is planned for consoles this year, and it should be more of that great core loop I loved in the last one.

ONTOS PS5

ONTOS should be on your radar for one simple reason. It comes from Frictional Games, the team behind Amnesia: The Dark Descent and SOMA, two highly acclaimed horror adventures. This new game explores more sci-fi themes and disturbing ideas, and if you've played Frictional's previous work, you'll know you're in for a spooky time. I expect this will be near the top of the list for any horror fanatics.

SPINE PS5

I've been keeping an eye on SPINE for what feels like forever, but it's always shown real promise in its early gameplay. This is a "gun-fu" action game with some seriously impressive animation that looks to make the player feel effortlessly cool. It's hard to tell if it's all style and little substance, or if there's some depth to be found, but I'm hoping this is the year we finally find out.

TankRat PS5

Published by Kepler Interactive, TankRat is a post-apocalyptic action game that's all about salvaging scrapped tank parts to cobble together a way to survive the wasteland. You play as a drone imbued with the consciousness of a human, and you're able to plug into the husks of tanks, find better parts to upgrade yourself, and use whatever you can find to make your way in the world. It's a really unique, interesting premise that I can't wait to see more of in 2026.

Void Breaker PS5

Published by Playstack, Void Breaker is a roguelite spin on the first-person shooter. Developed predominantly by one person, it's a sci-fi FPS with fast-paced action and incremental upgrades that turn you into a force to be reckoned with. It's already gotten a fair amount of praise during its Early Access run on PC, so I'm pretty confident this will be a lot of fun when it hits PS5.
