It's taken a good few months, but the highly anticipated New Game+ patch for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is upon us. This is a meaty update that goes far beyond the headline act, boasting additional accessibility options, and even the ability to replay individual story missions.
For the uninitiated, New Game+ lets you play through the entirety of Spider-Man 2 again, but with all of your unlocked abilities and suits intact. Meanwhile, the aforementioned Mission Replay is for when you want to experience specific story moments again. But there's yet more to unlock, according to Insomniac Games, which mentions "Ultimate Levels, Golden Gadget styles, and more".
The additions just go on and on, so we've broken everything down into bullet points below:

I mean, of all that is included in this update, this is the one I'm the most surprised wasn't included at launch.
Now for the DLC 🤤

I absolutely adored Spider-Man 2. It’s one of the rare games that made me want to grab the platinum. With that now secured, there’s not really that much in this update for me, but if they eventually release DLC in the future, I’ll be swinging back to this one for sure.

Can't change the weather meaning the one weather/time of day setting most of us wanted can't be accessed (stormy weather at night), Amazing 2 Suit is now bugged with the wrong lenses and the debug menu can now be accessed in NG+ so good job Insomniac 👍🙄 Also Miles new suit may be the worst looking suit in the game.
Sorry for being negative but its been months and we are still lacking things MM had at launch and bugs are still here with new ones added.

The new Game plus seems to have quite a lot going on, and yes there is a new trophy.
Played it once, will probably not play again because of these additions. Not that there was anything wrong with this game but if this stuff is not available during my playtime window I rarely return. I rarely use NG+ but I will PAY for NG+ if it means I can have it during my playtime window. I might go back to MSM2 if there is a significant DLC though.
@MikeOrator Yeah I’m with you man.. I had to stop preordering DLC because once I see those credits roll - I’m done.. the story is finished.. Been gaming for 30 years since I was 4yo and Spider-Man 2 PS5 is the only Platinum I’ve ever gotten 🤷♂️ I don’t get replaying games and never will

A new game plus trophy that doesnt make me play the hardest difficulty? What madness is this
@GLightning98 there is, luckily you’re not forced to play on the hardest difficulty. So you could literally speedrun the NG+ on the easiest mode.

Yeah I don’t understand how you make a game in NYC and don’t let us play at night.😝 Not only couldn’t we change the time of day but I waited around enough to realize the time doesn’t change. Or if it does it’s so slow it’s in real time? 🤷🏻♂️ After I finished the main story I had about 8 robot spiders left to find, and you can see them blocks away at night when they light up, but finding them in the day, even after unlocking them on the minimap, still took WAAAYYYYYY too long. There was 1 near the middle that took me like 15 minutes to find up in the sky and then another 15 minutes to get up there.😩 I looked up the last one near the 3 smokestacks in Queens, near where I grew up, I had had enough.
Finished the game 2 weeks ago, basically 100% it w/ about 2/3 of the trophies, probably wouldn’t have mattered, though I would have played almost entirely at night, city looks way cooler then. Que sera sera
I've seen this on marketplace in my area for £40ish, once I'm done with Rebirth, I'll sell that on that platform for about £50 and get myself a local copy of Spidey 2. 👍🏻

Glad for the mission replay. One of the rare games I don’t want to do a ng+ since most of the side missions/content were just bad and boring.
Main story is great though so if I can only replay that I’m in.

Don't get me wrong. I will go back for some DLC on some games. As good as it was to play Spiderman ain't that game. Give me more story content for a Like a Dragon or Persona game and I'm all in.

I’ve been waiting for NG+ so I can platinum it. I don’t normally do 2 playrhroughs if I can 100% it in one. SM2 warrants a 2nd play IMO. But now I kind of feel like waiting for the inevitable DLC so I can experience it all at once again. I just want the complete experience. Inb4 they don’t even make DLC for SM2 and I wait forever for nothing 😭😭😭
@DennisReynolds Miles Morales was also a much smaller game than Spider-Man 2. And it's not like Insomniac had some massive data breach that they had to contend with. Shame on them for taking so long to get this FREE update out.

Literally completed this on Tuesday and got the platinum and didn't delete in case there was some additional playable content or at least some mention of some dlc like the first. But gonna delete now and make way for the inevitable backlog that comes with plus extra/premium
You know what it is about the Spiderman character in general I don't like. Peter sleeps in class, is always late for things, needs to leave places abruptly, looks dozy all the time, is secretive in his room, is always broke, can't pay his rent, etc, etc. He comes off like an addict of some kind and yet has anyone of his friends ever tried to have some sort of intervention with him to make sure he is ok? And if there has been could he change his behavior or did he just keep being unreliable and absent with everyone until they all gave up on him? Is there a Spiderman timeline where he has been alienated by his loved ones because of his duties as Spiderman?
@theSpectre Having no NG+, not being able to change the time of day and along with launching it in a buggy state was their choice and was before the breach. MM being smaller doesn't matter and has no bearing, a slider to pick between day and night didn't need nearly half a year off work to put in the game. Also sorry but them being breached doesn't matter to me, i gave them £85 and i got an incomplete game that was pretty buggy with the promise of fix later, it sucks that it happened but it doesn't excuse how unfinished the base game is. Funny thing is this new update has broken some skins, still misses features previous games had and has ironically had them breach themselves as the Debug menu can now be easily accessed and it gives away info i don't think they want out.
For those asking, a single new trophy is added. It’s a Silver trophy for beating New Game plus.
