Last month's PlayStation Store Mega March sale didn't bring with it quite as many noteworthy discounts as we were hoping for, and Sony must have heard our cries of disappointment. The April sale is now live across the US and European storefronts, bringing with it a lot of good deals on phenomenal PlayStation 4 titles and welcome discounts on surprisingly recent games. This particular sale lasts until midnight on 28th April, with even more games joining the line-up on the 15th.
The deals are already live across European territories, while US member will have to wait until 8AM PT/11AM ET. Days Gone has its price slashed to $19.99/£24.99, Death Stranding is now half price at $29.99/£34.99, and Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is already on sale for $40.19/£39.99. Elsewhere, you can get the entire Kingdom Hearts experience with the Kingdom Hearts All-In-One Package for $29.99/£26.99, while Two Point Hospital is already down to $29.99/£27.99. Journey to the Savage Planet, which released just a few months ago, is priced at $17.99/£14.99.
Other highlights in Europe specifically include Wattam at £7.99, the excellent PlayStation VR title Arca's Path at £4.99, and Catherine: Full Body at £17.49 with a PlayStation Plus membership. Code Vein will cost you £24.99, and FMV epic Erica is just £3.99. Meanwhile, Space Channel 5 VR: Kinda Funky News Flash, which launched just over a month ago, is already discounted to £24.99.
You can sample more of the discounts on the PlayStation Blog in Europe and North America respectively. Is there a certain PS4 game you'll be picking up? Share your list in the comments below.

"Death Stranding is now half price at $29.99/£34.99"?? Wow! Just to be clear, this is not about Death Stranding. At this moment most people are at their homes isolated for weeks, without the possibility to work and most of the money spent on food and disinfectants. These discounts are a little offensive! It seems Sony acts like everything is regular while we have world pandemic, some kind of apocalypse already developed in Italy and Spain were almost 20000 people already died from pneumonia caused by coronavirus . I am not saying they should give us games for free, but more support during these difficult times would be appreciated!
"Two Point Hospital is already down to $29.99/£27.99"
That's a saving of a massive 2 quid compared to what I paid for it on launch day Excellent game though, my favourite of the year so far!
I might pick up Journey of the Savage Planet for that price.
A lot of my wishlist is on sale which is nice so I expect I will pick a few games up.
Borderlands 3 is down to £24.99 so that might be the first one I pick up as that just looks like a lot of fun.
@nenads What support are you wanting? They have put a game up half price and discounted other games. This is deemed offensive to you due to people having no money atm (which would mean discounts will help) but you don't want free games.....
So no to free games, no to full price games and no to discounted games? Self isolation making people go crazy it seems
I can't see any April sale still she's the march sale for me on the ps app, I had to search for Days Gone and it's cheaper with PS Plus sub without £25 with £19.98, I had £15 in my wallet I've been saving so I think I've got a decent deal for it
@ShaiHulud When you think you found a good price on a PlayStation store sale is it still always worth checking it against physical retail to make sure it actually is.
Hmmm Plague Tale for 20.00$ or Borderlands:Handsome Collection for 15.00$... choices choices
Overall, pretty dissapointing sale just like the March ''Mega'' sale...
@Rekki06 You are probably 10, I will explain it again but a little slower and with more details. Your parents work for money, that is how you buy games. When they stop working or exceed their supplies during this crisis then you won't be able to buy expensive games. Regarding most people in the world (have in mind some of them work for 200-300 euros a month, some of them for 3000), they are forced to be in their homes 24/7, and many of them are playing games to relax and to turn the mind off the worst f...... disaster our generation ever seen. I follow the PS store for 6 years now, I have a game library with 300+ PS games. Trust me when I say this is just a regular discount. And don't worry about multi-billion dollar companies that sell digital products. They won't lose much if they offer games with a 70 percent discount or more during these 2-3 months. If they can do that for holidays and a new year then it is possible to do it now...
I hope you learned something today, like not to be selfish and to think everybody live in rich countries where 50-60 euros does not mean much.
@nenads ''200-300 euros a month''
Not part of this disscussion, but that is not work, that is plain slavery.
Even when i was working as an apprentice for 8-16 hours a day, i had round 1200 euros a month, and even that was arguable whether or not was a decent pay for the sort of work we did.
Its the same prices for the last 3 months. Days Gone has been $20 in every sale since November. Death Stranding has been on sale for 2 straight months at that price.
All Sony does is keep offering the same deals, over and over again. What happened to the exciting flash sales, discount codes and different games going on sale throughout the year - this sucks
When did $20 = £25?
Anyway I want Days gone physical and I want it for €20.
I would prefer them cheaper! As is still not priority right now to buy games
£35 still for death stranding , are you having a laugh .
This sale is just as bad as "Mega March" was really, although Greedfall at £20 is a "Maybe, but let me check if its cheaper on disc"
@DominatorV93 you've got some point there...
I think I will skip this one too...
@whizzkidd Not saying you should skip it just yet, not all the games that are on sale have been revealed just yet on Playstation Blog.
But, considering there is a chance for a Flash Sale during Easter, i might have to wait aswell.
@Ryall It sure is. Never put all your eggs into one basket!
I just bought FIFA for 60 and now its like 24. Ugh.
I want all of these, though:
Borderlands 3
Batman: Arkham Collection
AC: Odyssey Ultimate Edition
Outer Worlds
A little disappointed with the offerings. Although I might finally pick up Dragonball FighterZ & it's DLC. Anyone know if it's worth it for strictly offline play?
@DominatorV93 depends on where you live and what you do. I've taught for years in public universities, after a decade of studies BA, MSc, PhD), and expenses and only got 500euro per month for 6 months a year, i.e. paid by the hour, not per year or semester. Meanwhile, permanent members of staff are getting 2,500-7,000 euro per month because they teach an extra course and have some administrative duties. It sucks, but it is what it is. I still wouldn't call it "slavery" considering what slavery actually was (just I wouldn't call groping "rape").
Anyway, I just had a look at the sale and I can't say I'm impressed. They could have done better, but it doesn't matter to me since I have so many other games to play. Doesn't everyone have a backlog by now?
Just looked it up, nothing for me. It looks exactly like a few sales we’ve had these past months with the exact same prices.
"Death Stranding is now half price at $29.99/£34.99"
Might have to double check your maths with that one, as the regular price is £54.99
Pleased to see Gravel on sale, I previously owned the game and after playing some SEGA Rally on my Saturn recently, was thinking of repurchasing. 10 quid, not bad.
@naruball Indeed, it does depend on the work itself and i may or may not have a bit harsh perspective when it comes to what i consider ''fair work-fair pay'', but that is quite relative to ones life experiances.
Most of administrative and education professions are one of the most underpaid and underappreciated professions in general.
I'm in the merchant-navy myself, a profession that average person works for about 10-15 years (not including apprenticeship) before quitting it. Some people would say we have exceptional pay and life standards, but it's far from the truth.
Hell, the US and even parts of UK law, have in some instances (technically) classified people of my profession unfit for ANY court related disscussions/statements, cuz we spend 4-8 months at sea per year...
That says it all.
@swagbag713 Different standards and different appreciations towards ones money i guess.
And some people are plain cheap, like me
Journey to the Savage Planet or Vampyr? Decent sale overall.
@crimsontadpoles It's also sold at $60 in the US.
I expected nothing, but wow this is a great sale.
Picked up Catherine Full Body & The Messenger for now.
Even though I have picked up Days Gone for £20 that's the only game that's on my list which is on sale. The sale is a joke after going through the list the same games again and again and how many games are they on PS4???
@DominatorV93 That sounds incredibly difficult. Mad respect for people who can actually do it.
@swagbag713 Not at all. Condescending would be if i stated you had low standards, or that other people had higher standards.
I stated ''different'' standards and ''different'' appreciation towards ones money.
@nenads i get what you're saying but the thing is Sony doesn't have control of Prices unless it's a Sony published/owned game, for example a game like Dragon Ball Z Kakarot it would be up to Bandai Namco to decide the price even for a sale (and up to them if it even goes on the sale)
and there is a good chance this sale and prices were negotiated months ago before the lockdown was even a thing so as such they couldn't be changed, these don't happen over night
Grid is less than £14. Woop woop.
Just to jump into the free game situation.
The world hasnt stopped turning and companies are closing left and right. The same companies who pay the millions of us wages. Some of us are furloughed, however we are only furloughed if the company exists. Else you are unemployed. So companies can't start dishing out everything for free!!!
(although getting an extra game as part of psplus would be appreciated).
@beavis64 And i can't believe you never seen the terms such as ''slavery'',''slave-over'',''working like a slave'' (...) being used as idioms
For example, we are all slaves of the financial system: born into it, without many chances to escape, we give our liberty away for the dollar/euro/pounds/etc. For the piece of paper with a number printed on it.
@swagbag713 Not at all, i would be much more direct if i wanted to insult someone like that.
Apologies, if there were any misunderstandings ofc.
I gotta say that these "discounts" are the same old discounts. My priority at the moment isn't to give what little I now have to Sony so discounts make little difference. Stay safe
@DominatorV93
"Slave driver" and "crack the whip" are a couple of other examples.
@lacerz Yup.
Well just had a look over this sale and it is trash. Same stuff that's on sale year around.
A bit rubbish this. I'm pretty sure Ni No Kuni 2 has been much cheaper in a previous sale that what it is in this current one.
@beavis64 Ridiculous notion to you, not me and i'm not glossing over anything, infact i'm quite serious and direct when it comes to the terminology i use in these kinds of conversations/discussions.
It's another matter entirely if you don't understand idioms (tho i doubt that, every grown person uses them almost on a daily basis).
And no need to quote me and/or question my memory directly or indirectly. My memory completely fine, which is quite unfortunate since i doubt i will be forgetting this quite unnecessary conversation anytime soon.
i guess i will keep on waiting on tetris effect to hit the sweet $20 price point. hard for me to justify paying more than that for a tetris game. as good as it is, it is more tetris on the whole, this is a weak sale imo.
Yea when i watch bbc top gear in usa they say quig and pound and euro and i dont know the difference
@DominatorV93 Unfortunately that's just the reality. In Portugal the minimum wage (and the one that most people and I really mean MOST people get) is 630€ and that's after a raise of 50€ since last year.
@nenads so entitled
@Athrum In my country (Croatia) it's even worse. The minimum wage for a lot of folk is around 510€, that is one of the reasons why you see a LOT of young adults going outside of the country (and even outside Europe in general) to work, myself included.
It's quite unfortunate reality indeed.
Pretty great sale, i myself got the Assassin's Creed The Ezio Trilogy and Control as it was £20 on Deal of the Week.
I thought screw it i got Doom Classic for £2.49
Interesting comments section lol. Just want to add that disposable income for games doesn’t always depend on age and salary. You can be grown up, have a high salary, a nice house, nice car, all the lastest mod cons, and still be scrounging around for a free game or a big discount just because you’ve squeezed your personal entertainment dollar so much. So don’t assume that they are a kid or poor.
Why are they more in £? Surely it be better to just get them on a US account for everyone else. Silly.
@FullbringIchigo I think the issue is with their own games like Death Stranding.
This looks almost exactly like the last sale with a few different ones lmao. But I see the 1st three dooms are on sale but I'm not sure which one I want to pick up.
And it kinda sucks that star ocean and castlevania weren't discounted this time but I can wait some more then. Overall it is a pretty terrible sale tho
@Nakatomi_Uk Its a really good version now, after the updates.
These sales are very predictable. Every few weeks it's the same games discounted at various prices. I've seen some of these games cheaper during previous PS Store sales. I shouldn't be complaining thought, I've got massive back log of games to get through. I guess I'm a digital game hoarder.
@Ristar24 I'm thinking about it. How is it compared to Dirt 4? Would you say it's easier, more arcady? How would you rate Gravel in a 1-10 scale?
@nenads lol stfu you poor mf
@DominatorV93 i work for 144 EU per month, i guess is not as expensive to live here (Mexico) but yeah games are still 60 lol, life for a gamer ain't easy down here lol
Hmmm...not the best sale ever I'd say...Lots of games were already on discount in the past couple of months, and for a lot less!
Also the amount of Japanese and indies in this sale is somewhat underwhelming I think....
@Oscarjpc With the default settings, and using an analogue stick as I am, Id say Gravel is a lot more arcade style. Even the look of the game (large flashing arrows on corners) is reminiscent of arcade games, and the car selection including the Toyota Celica and Lancia Delta, feels like a deliberate call back to SEGA Rally. There is actually still a free demo on the PSN store with two tracks and some cars, so Id recomend you give it a go. Framerate is only 30fps, but as an arcade racing fan, Id give it a 6 or 7 if you like arcade racers. Your mileage may vary!
@tweakin_frostyz Paying 60, whatever currency, for fifa in march/April is crazy though. Another couple of months and itll be 99p in Game...
@Deljo I dont want it "another couple months from now".... I want it now. I maybe crazy, but not because of this.
@tweakin_frostyz Understand that but if your willing to pay full price why not buy it when it releases rather than waiting 6 months and being surprised it's on sale shortly afterwards... in fact wasnt it 30 quid at xmas?
@Deljo 1. Why are you arguing with me?
2. When did I say I was surprised? All I said was "ugh". Literally.
3. I didn't want the game 6 months ago ... I don't want it 2 months from now. I wanted it this past week. What's so hard for you to understand?
4. Get a life and leave me alone. Thanks.
@Ristar24 Thank you so much for your reply. You're most kind.
@tweakin_frostyz Jesus, a touch sensitive arent we? If you dont want replies maybe dont make stupid comments 🤣🤣
@Deljo I can't imagine how terrible your life must be that you resort to these things. I hope it gets better for you.
@Oscarjpc No problem! The sale has both the standard and 'Special edition' version for a slightly higher price. The complete one adds a lot of extra races and cars to the game. If you do try the demo, the full game includes point to point races in addition to circuit races.
@tweakin_frostyz ??? 😘
