If the excellent Hitman 2 didn’t give you enough Agent 47 action last year, then you may be excited to learn that IO Interactive has announced the Hitman HD Enhanced Collection – and it’s garrotting a console near you from next week, on 11th January. As previously rumoured, the double pack will include PlayStation 3 title Hitman: Absolution and fan favourite Hitman: Blood Money.
According to a tweet from the Danish developer, both titles will feature updated controls and improved lighting. They’ll also run at 60 frames-per-second in 4K resolution. We’ll check in with the studio just to confirm that these will be released on the PlayStation 4, but seeing as ratings leaked a while back, we reckon that’s a lock.
Update (18:30GMT): Yes, the collection will release on the PS4. There's some chatter that it will retail for $60, but that seems so absurd that we're going to have to double-check that detail. Surely not?

Have them on Xbox One already.
Yesssss!!
Thanks to the absolutely stunning Hitman 2 (my personal GOTY for 2018), I was sorely tempted to go back and replay the HD Trilogy on PS3, followed by Absolution, but I held off because of those rating rumours.
Amazing, can't wait to give these another go!
@RogerRoger Amazing avatar by the way.
@get2sammyb Thanks! I think it's a keeper.
Looking forward to platinuming these beauts
retail release or digital only?
Blood Money’s still my favourite in the series but Hitman 2 is coming very close, the more I play it. Absolution was a flaming garbage dumpster though, a weirdly linear Hitman game is an experiment that just didn’t work although a few levels were fantastic.
Blood Money is great, but I really wish they'd included Hitman 2 as the other title.
Nice. I have the HD collection and Absolution on PS3, but this is perfect for those newer Hitman fans that never played any of the older games, like Blood Money.
What about those of us who already have the games separately? Will they be updated with 4K 60fps? I’d say I doubt it given that they are originally last-gen games, therefore would have to pay extra to get this HD collection. As much as I love Hitman I’m not sure I’d want to double dip just for 4K 60fps and when I’ve already 100%’ed both games several times since they were released.
io is trying to make a quick buck after leaving s-e. i cannot blame them, i guess. hitman is hot at the moment so might as well go back to the well.
Will it be Physical?
Updated the article a bit.
@MaccaMUFC I'm 99.9% sure you're going to have to pay for them again if you want them for PS4. I don't think I've ever seen a game be given free for the next gen platforms (PC gets lucky when it come to that aspect) after they get a re-release and you owend the past one.
@Kindaichi ah well, im in no rush to buy just yet, have other games to play and resident evil 2 is coming up anyway, this can wait for a while.
If it is $60 they could've at least thrown in Silent Assassin and Contracts.
I feel like I'm the only person that enjoyed Absolution.
@Splat you are not alone, it's not that bad.
@Kindaichi yeah, it's best to wait for a sale on this one.
@RawnDawn I’ve got them backward compatible on Xbox One, I’ve seen plenty of games on there that have received free 4K, HDR and 60fps updates which is why I asked about this HD collection, I might actually consider getting it if it’s cheap enough like no more than £20.
Edit: Just read the updated article, $60!? There’s no way it’s worth that much, for that price I’d expect another Hitman title thrown in and all running off the same engine as last years Hitman 2. We’ll just have to wait and see how much it really is.
@Splat nope I love hit man absolution more than blood money .word up son
@get2sammyb Apparently WB have sent press emails out saying it’s going to be £44.99 and will be digital only. I’ve got both games BC on Xbox One so I’m not paying £44.99 for this, I’d pick it up in the sale sometime for half price though.
i will buy them
If this is truly selling for $60, I will wait a year or two for $15-$20 sale.
