Bethesda will be hosting its fourth E3 press conference at this year's show, but it's still had plenty of time over the past three years to wow audiences with some classic moments, and try to make us forget about one or two lowlights. Let's look back on them.
DOOM rips and tears with an impressive showing
Press had gotten a brief glimpse of DOOM at the previous year's QuakeCon, but this was the first public unveiling of gameplay for what would become one of 2016's best experiences. As the very first title to be shown at Bethesda's debut press conference, there was a lot of expectation placed on its shoulders, and boy did DOOM deliver.
Footage debuted the Glory Kill system, brand new enemies, its ripping heavy-metal soundtrack, SnapMap, and the all important shotgun. If you're ever wondering how to make an impact with your own game reveal, the blueprints have already been laid out.
A deep dive into Fallout 4 brings the house down
Fallout 4 was already confirmed to be making an appearance at Bethesda's 2015 conference, but nobody was quite prepared for how much coverage we actually got. Todd Howard got on stage for a mammoth 25 minute segment dedicated entirely to the open world RPG.
We saw the character creator, the opening 15 minutes, skill point allocation, the beginnings of building your base, Fallout Shelter, weapon customisation, and an absolute ton of gameplay. But then, there was the release date. Launching just five months after its unveiling was the cherry on top of an excellent showing from Bethesda Game Studios.
Everyone is talking about the debut trailer for Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus
E3 2017 was a fairly low-key event for Bethesda, with its biggest announcement being Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. At least the trailer was incredibly cool though, filled to the brim with action, gameplay, Nazi killing, and drugs.
PREY gets a reboot
One of the more surprising reveals to come out of E3 2016 was the reboot of PREY. With a completely different setting, lead character, enemy type, and set of mechanics, the announcement caught a lot of people off-guard after the original Prey 2 fell into obscurity despite footage falling into the hands of the public.
Someone really likes The Elder Scrolls Online
We get it, E3 is an incredibly exciting time for everyone, especially so if you're attending one of the conferences that'll debut your work on the big stage. But this, this is maybe taking it a little too far. Game Director of The Elder Scrolls Online, Matt Firor, took to the spotlight as he announced an expansion to the game called The Dark Brotherhood, and this got someone in the crowd very excited. Just check out the video below, and Bethesda, you gotta keep those PR people in check!
Those are our picks for Bethesda's best and worst moments on an E3 stage, but what are yours? Could there be an announcement this year that goes down in history? Remind everyone that The Elder Scrolls VI won't be making an appearance at E3 2018 in the comments below.

Am I missing something as this reads like its all the 'highlights' and no 'lows'...
I can't say Prey impressed - not that its 'disappointing' to get a new game that we weren't expecting - but then compared to original Prey 2 concept, this seemed underwhelming and somewhat familiar too despite having little (if anything) to do with the original Prey.
I guess that 2016 disappointed as it was an underwhelming line-up - especially as games like Wolfenstein 2 and Evil Within 2 were rumoured to the point of expected to be shown off - a bit like Starfield last year. However with Bethesda seemingly revealing games they intend to release relatively soon after, its understandable why they didn't turn up.
Arguably you could say that Bethesda 2017 had the 'worst kept secrets' with games expected to be revealed the year before finally being revealed... I wonder if we will get Starfield announced this year then...
23rd E3 related article in the last 7 days... Ok, perhaps a slight exaggeration there. Not that I think it's being hyped.
That first Bethesda conference was ace. Really, really good.
No mention of their happy unveiling for Creation Club? That was a travesty surpassing EA's level of greed and corruption.
Bethesda has yet to impress me with something outstanding. Their games are alright but nothing I would ever get hyped about. I don't get all the buzz.
Then again, as Skyrim released I was instead blown away by dark souls and as fallout 4 released I was hooked on Witcher 3.
Bethesda? More like Bore-thesda!
...I'll show myself out.
I like Bethesda's strategy of announcing and then releasing within a year. It's refreshing and it keeps hype levels up.
I was sceptical about Bethesda having a conference, but the first one they held was top dollar. Second wasn't so good, but hey. As Meatloaf once said, one out of two ain't bad. Or something.
I personally have a lot of time for Bethesda, they seem to have a knack of knocking out games that I have consistently enjoyed.
Personally, I thought Prey was fantastic despite not particularly liking the aliens. How they hell the managed to relaunch Doom and Wolfenstein so successfully is beyond me, they are incredible in my opinion. Then there is the brilliant Evil Within series, very under rated for me, I thought they were great games personally.
