We can't quite put our finger on what it is, but One Piece: World Seeker looks... Off. Just a little bit. The open world adventure is due out later this year here in the West, and footage taken from an early live demo of the game has surfaced online.
It's got a bit of combat, some exploration -- all the usual stuff. But again, it just seems a bit wonky. Maybe it's the clash of styles? Main character Luffy looks great, but he doesn't quite gel with the environments, which are rendered in a more realistic way. It looks rather weird.
Still, the world itself looks reasonably detailed, and we're looking forward to seeing more. Hopefully it clicks with us a bit better in the future.

Looks good.
Foreboding articles like Sonic Forces...I forsee a Pushsquare rating of 5/10 on World Seeker.
@Broosh Let's hope it doesn't come to that!
I still don't see the clash. The world is detailed but a long shot from realistic. Not any more jarring than the Unlimited Adventure/World/Cruise series.
I think it looks pretty good. Like, if the article didn't highlight it as a potential issue i wouldn't have looked twice I think.
Well, I'm glad you're not all cynical b*stards like me.
@ShogunRok Haven't you got some Monster Hunter guides to write? (I'm just jealous because I dont have it)
Wow, the new Zelda looks cool
@AFCC Was gonna say, this looks like Breath Of The Wild with devil fruit powers and I am on board (nautical pun intended).
This looks great! What's the problem?
@kendomustdie Heck yeah! Did you know that they actually sell Devil Fruit marshmallow-fruit candy in Japan!
Looks good to me. Not too keen on the generic enemy encounter, but it looks fun.
@kyleforrester87 actually not the first time it happens to me to read a headline shooting down a game, only to then open it, take a look and think “wait, wasn’t it supposed to look bad/wonky/whatever?” here on PS.
Edit: but then again it seems to work and get clicks, as I always end up opening the articles to see what’s wrong
@clvr I probably just don't like being told what to think 😂
@kyleforrester87 ahahahah fair enough, me neither 😁
That’s why I like mah articles simple and smooth: I want to be informed, not spoon-fed someone else’s opinion.
The thing is NL often lacks details so you have to scavenge for info in the comment sections, while PS often expresses its bias, thus conditioning the readers’ opinions.
Welp, no site is perfect eh? 😅
@clvr To be fair I love this site and (generally) I enjoy the way they present info, if anything I'm kind of more interested in this game because I've been told it doesn't look right! Having said there there doesn't seem to be a writer on here that caters specifically to my taste in games (I don't agree with many of Roberts top picks and my taste is almost the opposite of Sammys) but that's not a big deal really
@kyleforrester87 oh don’t get me wrong, I love both sites too (otherwise I wouldn’t have been hanging around for 3+ years), it’s just that I don’t consider myself the blind fanboy who defends his favorite things just out of...well, blind fanboyism lol
Actually, I think I’ve probably posted more complaints than praises on both sites ahahahahah
Not sure how I come across most of the time, but my intent is to post some constructive criticism that hopefully leads to some change for the best, since, as I’ve already said, I’ve been visiting both sites on an almost daily basis for a very long time, so I care for their quality even when I disagree with how they operate.
Honestly, I’m not that happy about the direction NL has been going since the new guy was appointed editor.
Looks great i dont see anything wrong with it.
Weird you have the one guy commenting in Japanese with the other two ladies speaking Mandarin. Don't see that many interviews for games in Chinese! I think the one lady is translating but then the guy is saying stuff back in Japanese XD
Looks great to me.
I don't see anything wrong, looking forward to playing eventually!
