Assassin's Creed Origins is getting its biggest expansion yet next month, and boy does it sound... Mental. Curse of the Pharaohs takes protagonist Bayek to a new Egyptian region where he's tasked with getting to the bottom of why undead rulers are slaughtering innocents. Yeah, like we said, it sounds mental.

"As he works to quell the spirits of each restless pharaoh, Bayek finds his way into their individual afterlives, which exist as big, self-contained open worlds connected to portals in their tombs. The Egyptian underworld is dazzling and strange, with exotic loot, majestic barges that float across fields of reeds, and mythical creatures that stand sentry against the living," the official blog post reads. Colour us intrigued.

What's more, Ubisoft's posted a bit of gameplay footage, which we've embedded above. It's also slapped a 13th March release date on the expansion.

Curse of the Pharaohs increases the level cap to 55, it adds a bunch of new weapons, new costumes, and even new skills. Safe to say that it's shaping up to be Bayek's biggest adventure since the main game. Season pass holders can grab it at no extra cost, but if you're looking to pick it up separately, it'll be priced at $19.99.
