Assassin's Creed Origins is getting its biggest expansion yet next month, and boy does it sound... Mental. Curse of the Pharaohs takes protagonist Bayek to a new Egyptian region where he's tasked with getting to the bottom of why undead rulers are slaughtering innocents. Yeah, like we said, it sounds mental.
"As he works to quell the spirits of each restless pharaoh, Bayek finds his way into their individual afterlives, which exist as big, self-contained open worlds connected to portals in their tombs. The Egyptian underworld is dazzling and strange, with exotic loot, majestic barges that float across fields of reeds, and mythical creatures that stand sentry against the living," the official blog post reads. Colour us intrigued.
What's more, Ubisoft's posted a bit of gameplay footage, which we've embedded above. It's also slapped a 13th March release date on the expansion.
Curse of the Pharaohs increases the level cap to 55, it adds a bunch of new weapons, new costumes, and even new skills. Safe to say that it's shaping up to be Bayek's biggest adventure since the main game. Season pass holders can grab it at no extra cost, but if you're looking to pick it up separately, it'll be priced at $19.99.

This sounds seriously great.
Season pass owner so I'll be downloading it as soon as it's ready. Loved The Hidden Ones DLC.
Wow sounds pretty great.
Another one for me to do, can't wait.
something something siwa knowing peace
I though it was already dated for the 6th of March? 1 week delay.
Either way, it sounds good.
Ubi has been one of my favorite studios for a while now, glad that they're showing their potential for everyone with AC Origins. This sounds like a fantastic DLC.
DLCs are a great way to build "more of the same" content for a game, without people complaining for the lack of inovations (if the same is good, I don't see the issue, but some gamers love to hate developers for that). If done right, they can also keep a game alive for months or years after launch.
I am looking forward to it - bought the Gold edition so get this as it came with the Season Pass!
Need a sale on the season pass
Wow that looks great!
Ubisoft is really changing the way consumers think of them. Props for them. I always thought people were to harsh to this company. Personally I feel the constant support of their games is great. Even years after release.
Wow Ubisoft showing everyone else how DLC works, I've only just started the game but I'm definitely picking the pass up now. Makes me even more confident that Far Cry 5's will live up to its hype too
Im going to wait i made a mistake buying the game i just have a to big backlog.
@Flaming_Kaiser
Well, you have an amazing game waiting for you when you're ready to get around to it.
I would be interested if this wasnt a Ubisoft open world game. The scenery looks phenomenal but I just cant see these games hold my attention any more.
wooo lesssgooo ubi
I own the season pass so I'll grab it. Just started with the first expansion after spending 70+ hours in the main game to get the platinum. Best AC game in my opinion yet. I liked the setting of Black Flag much more but overall Origins is the better game.
