Final Fantasy IX is coming to PlayStation 4 -- we've known that since the port was rated for the console last night, before Sony's TGS 2017 presser had even started. The game was officially confirmed during said conference, however, and better yet, it's actually launching today in Japan.
There's no word on a Western release date just yet, but surely it can't be far behind. If it also hits us later today, you'll probably be able to hear our fanboy screams the world over.
Update: Final Fantasy IX is out now in Europe and North America. Click through here for more details and pricing.

I'm sure that Before the end of 2018 they will release every main series FF game on ps4 (besides 1 to 6 and 13 what are we currently missing?)
@darkswabber FF8 would also be missing. Did 11 ever come out on ps4? I can't recall it coming out.
@Rob_230 Nah 11 hasn't been re-released on PlayStation since the original PS2 version. Though I think a mobile version has been in the works for a while so maybe it'll arrive on consoles again after all? Would be surprised if it happened outside of Japan though.
Anyways, this is fantastic news - will be keeping an eye on the PS store!
Oh there is also a theme with the game, nice - I will grab this the minute it goes on the store lol
@Feena I'm still using the FF7 theme, hope this ones a good un!
@kyleforrester87 if it has Roses of May or Not Alone playing I will never change it LOL
@Feena I had some Roses of May action on earlier to get me in the FF9 mood. Not that I'm ever not in the FF9 mood but hey.
@kyleforrester87 it's been on loop on the Ragalia since I've got the disc in XV.
Is this re-master or a port? Is there more voice acting or is it all text?
YES!! This is the best news to come out of TGS for me. Also, that's a great MHWorld trailer.
