Warner Bros. has delayed Batman: Return to Arkham a month before its original 29th July release date, with no sign of a new launch window. Announced on the WB Games forum, the delay will apparently give developer Virtuous Games - who recently helped port Heavy Rain to PlayStation 4 - more time polish the Batman Arkham bundle, which consists of Arkham Asylum, Arkham City. and all the downloadable content for both games.
After reviewing the progress of the project, the team at WB Games has decided to delay the release of Batman: Return to Arkham to give the team at Virtuous Games additional time to deliver a polished Batman Arkham game experience. We do not have a release date yet and will be sure to communicate that once we are sure the game will be ready. We know this is disappointing news, but we feel the extra time will allow the team to create the best gaming experience for our fans.
It's unfortunate that Batman: Return to Arkham has been delayed without a new release date, but given the popularity of both Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, it's important that Warner Bros. gives Virtuous as much time as it needs.

They'll probably wait for Neo and/or NX.
Maybe it was because of all the fans that went at them for taking away the grittiness
It doesn't affect my plans at all - funnily enough the Arkham trilogy is one of the few games I own on both PS and XB so already own both of these on both my PS3 and Xbox.
Having watched the 'remastered' comparison video, I honestly thought that they had labelled up the original and remastered versions the wrong way round - particularly with the side by sides - the full screen views appeared to be labelled correctly but some scenes it was difficult to see any real difference. I think that was not just my opinion, but a view shared by many.
I hadn't pre-ordered this and was waiting to see if it had been labelled incorrectly or that was really the state of it. I know these looked great on last gen anyway but when there is very little difference (look at the difference in Skyrim for example) I was left wondering what Virtuous had actually done - in some cases actually made it look worse!
Not affected as I am skipping them.
No buy for me since Origins and Blackgate are not included for some reason.
They've got to change every instance of the word Arkham into Akhram, especially since Sony is so far up their butts. If the trailer name said Akhram that's what it is
Two things rocksteady and WB severely lack in: the ability to get their games to run properly, and treating their customers like they can't see through their BS.
@belmont It's because Origins and Blackgate are not cannon, they were just one shot cash grab spin offs.
@Splatburst Nah, there is no release for either console, it's more then likely they were getting too many complaints from how it looked when they released the comparison video a bit ago. If that's the reason, I am glad that they delayed it.
I'll just stick to the original version.
I am ok with the delay because I love the games and want them to look stellar. But I wish that there was a tentative release window like Q4 2016 or Q1 2017...just some idea of when it might pop up.
I sure hope they really use this delay to try and make the game look as better than the original versions as possible, without just blowing out the contrast and getting rid of the PS3/X360 versions' distinct dark, de-saturated tone.
Delaystation! I'm just kidding but seriously this gen has a tonne of delays. I don't mind because I like polished games but I think publishers and devs should just wait before they announce a game or release dates. This, horizon zero dawn, no man's sky, the banner saga, uncharted 4 etc
@Tasuki I know but in some aspects I enjoyed them both and think that are on par with the previous two titles.
I'd only be getting it to play Asylum again but will wait and see how they turn out as the screenshots didn't really inspire any confidence in them
@belmont Right, but that would be like saying a DVD set of the first 4 Batman Movies should include The Dark Knight Trilogy. While they are all good they are two seperate series.
