We've got to admit, the rollout of the PlayStation 4's first price drop has been so disjointed that it's been hard to muster a whole lot of enthusiasm about it. First it was Japan that decided to play limbo, with the rest of Asia following a few days later. North America joined the lower priced party earlier in the month, and now finally – after a series of leaks – Europe is on the fun.

Starting from today, you'll be able to purchase a 500GB PS4 for £299.99 in the UK and €349.99 around Europe. Now, we know what you're thinking: the console's already been cheaper. Yes, it has, so this price drop will enable retailers to go even lower than the abovementioned RRP. We know that it's a bit confusing, but that's the way that things work here in Europe.
