Not too long ago, we asked you if there were any more games that you'd like to see remastered on the PlayStation 4, and quite a few of you said that with the right technical upgrades, you'd love to see a bunch of titles make the next-gen jump.
You lot will be happy to know, then, that Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin is going to look silky smooth on Sony's newest console. Thanks to a recent hands on with the game, the US PlayStation Blog has confirmed that the adventure will run at 60 frames-per-second, which, as you can imagine, apparently makes the brutal combat that much more responsive. On top of that, the ever-grim title will display in crisp 1080p, so that you can really see the detail in your mangled body as you hit the ground.
That's not all, however, as the re-release will even switch up item locations and enemy behaviours so that veteran players won't be able to blitz through the game using prior knowledge. Perhaps the scariest revelation, though, is that enemies will now follow you into fog gates, which previously stopped their advance.
The masochists among you will likely be jumping with twisted joy right now, but what do you think of the improvements? Are you willing the brave the nightmarish creatures of From Software's creation once again? Light a bonfire in the comments section below.

Not really a game that interests me. I have Demons Souls for the PS3 and I barely touched it. It just seemed like extremely generic hack n slash with death penalties; and the Dark Souls games, from what I have seen, are pretty much the same.
@thedevilsjester how dare you... but yeah, and I love it. re buy for me. Praise the sun. High Deaths in HD.
I bought Darksouls, Played Darksouls and within 7 days I traded in Darksouls. Not becuase I'm awesomesauce and beat it oh no no. Beacuse it beat me. It BEAT me!
Ill curse that game to my grave!
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi as I said, I haven't actually played Dark Souls, just the predecessor, but I have watched many people play it, and I couldn't tell the difference between the two games. I am all for death penalties (in FFXI, you could de-level from max level down to 5, if you kept dying!, and I love rogue likes, it's just the generic hack and slash that doesn't do it for me)
Cannot wait to play this again with all the added content, and of course 60fps 1080p goodness.
Did they change the engine ? Since Dark Souls 2 was FPS based, means durability and animations were 2 times faster at 60fps in PC
@GraveLordXD you is a drangleic wizard
@GraveLordXD actually you can do all that in hack n slash. Nothing you said makes it any less hack n slash, and having played the first one for 10 hours or so, with at least the vast majority of those abilities, I can say with authority, yes it's still hack n slash. That's not to say it's bad, at all, a lot of people obviously love it and their opinions are no less valid than mine, I just find it mind numbingly boring. Of course I speak only of Demons Souls and the fact that Dark Souls doesn't appear (to me as an observer) to be different enough to make a difference to me.
@thedevilsjester any opinions on bloodborne yet? Maybe worth a second go, dunno if it looks sufficiently different, doesn't really to me.
Dammit can't they just release the whole trilogy in one box set: Demon Souls, Dark souls 1 & 2. These hd remasters are similar to when I use to buy Dvd movies individually and then upgrade later to bluray . Yes I'm looking at you Star Wars, Back to the future et al! Now plz bring mass effect trilogy. And rockstar classics: Bully, Red dead redemption a b d GTA 4
@GraveLordXD I don't know if you just don't play many action RPG games or you haven't analyzed them like you have with DS, but other than some simultaneous actions you listed, all of those features can be found in nearly every action RPG out there, from Diablo 3 and God of War to Skyrim and DragonAge. I think your love of this game is creating a bias when viewing other games. I am on my phone, not a full computer so I can't give you a big ol list right now, but if I remember tonight I will.
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi I don't have an informed opinion on that game yet, though I will watch it closely. I don't like to judge before I know, which is why I keep saying that I haven't played Dark Souls or Dark Souls 2 and that I am basing my opinion on Demons Souls.
1080p 60fps or not, dying thousands of times is still going to be ugly.
Dark souls is hack n slash? This is news to me. You have to prepare yourself in dark souls or you are dead guaranteed. Hack n slash you just go, fast and without much thought or consequence. Just saying, strategy is necessary.
Never played one, but dying over and over never appealed to me
I played demon souls and loved it. I felt like the combat had way more depth than any other game I've played with swords. However, I never played either of the dark souls games. They look less like medieval fantasy and more like horror games.
Dark Souls plays very differently to game's like GOW, Skyrim, DA: Inquisition & Diablo3.
This is nice, but I never played the souls games. I'll be a "blood" guy with bloodborne being my first trip to Miyazaki land. Lol. I'll probably pick this up during the summer drought. But between mgs5, witcher3, and bloodborne coming, my backlog is already getting nervous.
All the games you named as hack n slash are nothing like dark souls, plus how would you know? Your never even played dark souls or dark souls 2. I need four handd to give those titties( your comments) four thumbs down.
Will be picking it up at some point. As of now the only Miyazaki fun I'm awaiting is Bloodborne..
@thedevilsjester I own both Demon's and Dark Souls, but havent touched either yet.
Mainly because they're RPGs that would take a month or more to beat, but also the whole super hard death matters stuff.
Did somebody compare Dark souls to Diablo??? Facepalm. The only thing they have in common is the D at the start of the title. As others have mentioned its not hack and slash like god of war at all either.
High Deathinition.
