Tim Moss may not be a household name like some of PlayStation's other high-ranking employees, but he's responsible for some of the brand's biggest games. Having served as Sony Santa Monica's director of technology for years, he knows a thing or two about pushing the boundaries of the Japanese giant's various systems. With the currently in-production next-gen God of War, however, he realises that he's got a challenge ahead.
"Tonight, I shall be playing The Order: 1886," he wrote on Twitter. "And on Monday, I'll be having 'and this is where the new graphics bar is' conversations with the team." One follower sarcastically replied with "no pressure at all", to which Moss responded: "It would be less fun without a challenge."
Kratos set the presentation bar on both the PlayStation 2 and PlayStation 3, so it's safe to assume that the studio will be aiming to do the same all over again. We don't actually know a whole lot about the next God of War game, other than that it's in production, and God of War II director Cory Barlog has been brought back into the fold to helm the project. Could it be a reboot? There's a good chance that we'll see something at E3 later this year.

Enjoy it while it lasts.

Always nice to have a healthy rivalry between studios. It means, we can expect better quality games.
I'm goin through the story of the order at the moment. And wow, most gorgeous game I've ever seen.
@Splat lol .
There was though to me a clear difference between the true cut scenes and the gameplay, it wasn't as seamless as some will have you think. The cut scenes though probably are the best I've seen, only maybe CoD AW and bits of Alien Isolation compare. The game itself though didn't look a huge amount different to Sherlock Homes on PS4, it had more smog, more guns, more werewolves and not much else.
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi I think it has the most realistic lightning engine I've ever seen in a game though. Transitioning from dark yellowish room (lit by gas flames) into early evening foggy London looks so real, with your eyes adjusting, the hue of the light changing, skintones, self-shadowing... I think it's dramatic.
Hopefully that's all they talk about bringing over to GoW. Leave the half-baked storytelling and drab gameplay behind.
Why do I get the feeling we'll be inspecting items in GoW just like you pointessly do in 1886.
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi get your eyes checked mate
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi You're lucky this site protects people like you from being insulted to the level you deserve by spewing that nonsense.
Get your eyes checked.
@KAPADO I agree it does take some people a concerted effort to remain civil, some people fail, it often leads to violence and hence human history, its an observation and my opinion, if you think Sherlock Holmes looks rubbish on ps4 then that's your opinion
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi See ignorance can also be reading things that are not there. I never said that!
But The Order 1886 stands at the top of graphical mountain and it can't see Sherlock among its brethren.
@KAPADO huh? Yeah, I don't disagree that its most likely the best looking game around on either console, that said though there are many 'negative' contributing factors relating to other aspects of the game that help it achieve such lofty graphical heights. Its not as if Second Son, TLoU or CoD AW are ugly ducks.
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi I swear Second Son is so overlooked. The first time I saw the neon powers
I lost my mind. Specially draining neon and smoke
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi I still have to play COD-AW single player.
I'll get to it tonight
