The Last of Us' plaudits may mostly stem from the heart wrenching tale at the core of its campaign, but its multiplayer was a bit of an overlooked gem. Fusing the very best of old-school SOCOM with the release's survival theme, it was surprisingly strong – and the factions-based metagame, which pulled data from your Facebook page if you allowed it, was merely the icing on the post-apocalyptic cake.
We're excited, then, to see where Uncharted 4: A Thief's End's multiplayer goes, with the latest issue of Game Informer magazine confirming that Nathan Drake and crew will be taking the fight online all over again. The previous entry focused on set-piece arenas, which wore thin pretty quick, so we're hoping to see some real evolution this time around. Unfortunately, there aren't any details at this early stage, other than the feature's inevitable inclusion.
Is there anything in particular that you'd like to see make the cut? Given that we got a glimpse of it during the sequel's recent PlayStation Experience demo, we reckon that the protagonist's grappling hook will probably be implemented in some way – but are there any other gameplay mechanics or modes that you're especially eager to join the ranks? Drop some cheesy one-liners in the comments section below.

I enjoyed the MP in Uncharted 2 but didn't play much of it in Uncharted 3. To be honest though, Im not to bothered about the MP. Its the SP in Uncharted 4 that interests me the most.
I must admit, The Last of Us MP was (and still is) pretty damn good!
Since I haven't played 2 or 3 yet, I have zero experience with Uncharted's multiplayer. In fact I've honestly forgotten the series even has it. I've never viewed Uncharted as a series that really needs it, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't curious about it.
I guess we'll find out soon enough.
It will be one of the best looking shooters. I hope they make it a first person shooter.
@goonow I'd stop playing Uncharted if it became a FPS, honestly.
However, I doubt that will ever happen, so yeah...
2 was one of my favorite online shooters although the community was pretty scarce when I joined. 3 was good but everyone felt more like bullet-sponges. Hopefully 4 will be amazing.
Uncharted's multiplayer was an unnecessary, but expected thing when it was unveiled in UC2. All of these companies want to make a quick $ by getting people to buy map packs & other multiplayer DLC.
I gave it a shot......didn't hate it......didn't love it either. I could really care less about it. Well, it does annoy me, just a little, that my trophy % looks like garbage on the 2nd & 3rd games because of all the stupid DLC multiplayer trophies they added. Oh well.
As long as it doesn't take an ounce of development time making the story & campaign better, then I don't care.
@goonow because there isn't enough first person shooters out there?
I hate playing online but I played a lot of the splitscreen co op on 3. I hope they do the same this time.
Loved The Last of Us' multiplayer mode. Huge surprise for me that it turned out to be so good. I thought it was just tacked on, but I was thankfully dead wrong.
By the way, excellent picture for the article, @get2sammyb. Drake's joyous expression is priceless. lol
@ReigningSemtex i just dont like third person. Imo you cant have too many fps multiplayer games. Its always fun to play a new one.
I hope that the multiplayer is a separate trophy set from the main game.
