No Man's Sky PS4

While there are some negative connotations surrounding the word indie at the moment, teensy British studio Hello Games seems to have largely escaped criticism with the amazing looking No Man’s Sky. In fact, given the enthusiasm surrounding the release right now, it's hard to believe that it's being built by a team of ten or so people – it’s even secured top billing at Sony’s big PlayStation Experience event next month.

Still looking somewhat shocked by the studio’s E3 press conference appearance, boss Sean Murray has popped up in a brand new video revealing that we’ll be seeing new gameplay footage of the hotly anticipated PlayStation 4 title at the platform holder’s big shindig in Las Vegas – but that’s not all. Apparently, the Japanese giant’s also arranging something “different” and “crazy” that we honestly have no idea what it is.

The build up reminds us of that bonkers Cirque du Soleil showcase that Microsoft arranged to officially unveil Kinect – the one where the media was forced to wear glowing ponchos – so we’re anticipating something equally pretentious. Wouldn’t it be cool if the manufacturer skipped on the interpretive dance performance, though, and let attendees actually get some hands-on time with the release? Yeah, that would probably be a bit too cool, huh?
