Killzone Mercenary

Guerrilla Cambridge, the studio behind PlayStation Vita exclusive Killzone: Mercenary, is currently searching for an audio programmer to provide support on “forthcoming projects in a high profile, multi-million selling franchise”. The studio is thought to be switching its attention to the PlayStation 4, with the platform holder purportedly pulling the plug on big budget first-party productions for the handheld.

Exactly what it’s working on, however, remains a mystery. With main studio Guerrilla Games supposedly busy beavering away on a new intellectual property, it may be providing external support as it has with previous Killzone games. There’s also a possibility that it could be taking full control of the sci-fi franchise, with Sony presumably eager to continue the series following the successful sales of Killzone: Shadow Fall.

Personally, we’d like to see the studio return to its roots, and produce fresh MediEvil and Ghosthunter sequels, but we’ve probably got more chance of being struck by lightning. Oh well, one can dream.
