Japanese Games Go Cheap in the US PSN Golden Week Sale

Posted by Nicola Hayden

Always believe in your soul

When Europe received a bumper Easter sale on the PlayStation Network, it left feathers ruffled that the North American store wasn't getting a similar seasonal gift. However, while those of you in the US may have been forced to skip on last week's celebrations, you can look forward to the Japanese holiday of Golden Week.

As you may have guessed, all of the releases reduced in this promotion hail from the Land of the Rising Sun. Don't expect a pile of niche titles, though, as there's a game for everyone's tastes. There's the latest JRPG in Tales of Symphonia: Chronicles, an iconic brawler in SoulCalibur V, and the best of the PlayStation Vita in Persona 4 Golden. Well I already have Chrono Trigger, Muramasa and Persona 4 Golden. I'm definitely getting Chrono Cross. I'm torn on getting Tales of Symphonia Chronicles and Devil May Cry Collection.

I literally JUST bought Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross a week ago on Vita. As well as Final Fantasy 1-9, Final Fantasy Tactics, Ogre Battle, Xenogears and Jean d' Arc.

Of course NOW they start running discounts.

Surprisingly enough I don't have Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross yet. Those two for sure but I don't know why the Vitas version of Hot Shot Golf didn't make the list.

Great sale! Unfortunately I own most of these already (or not unfortunate?) but I will be picking up Chrono Trigger and DBZ on the Vita.

One of the good thigns about being old, I still own all those games on disc. Like an idiot I traded in Xenogears after being upset that the 2nd disc was so lame. That and Legend of Dragoon I wish I had back. Probably should have kept Vagrat Story too but I just didn't like it that much.

Going to pick up 2er ToS Chronicles for $10. I only played the first for an our before I gave up as it was too hard as soon as I got in the first dungeon and died immediately in my first battle. I'm hoping I did something stupid back then and can figure it out now. Well now after Xenoblade and Child of Light.
