Round the bend

The keen eyed folks over at GT Planet have spent the past couple of days analysing the latest batch of Gran Turismo 5 trailers – and have discovered a handful of unreleased tracks in the process. According to the site, the recently released footage of the 2014 Corvette Stingray includes a sneak peak at Willow Springs. Curiously, the Californian circuit has never appeared in a Gran Turismo game before.

Even more new layouts were spotted in the Acura NSX Concept video, which includes footage of updated versions of Seattle and Apricot Hill. While both of these will be familiar to long-term fans of the franchise, neither of the routes made it into Gran Turismo 5 at launch. There’s also a quick look at Tokyo’s Ginza district by night.

But what does it all mean? Well, common sense suggests that there are a couple of new track packs on the way to the simulation racer – but we can’t help but feel that developer Polyphony Digital's teasing something infinitely more exciting. Let’s just wait and see what that rumoured PlayStation 4 reveal brings.
