You're not alone

To date, all we’ve seen of Naughty Dog’s upcoming The Last of Us is single-player action. But while the title won’t boast co-operative gameplay, the Uncharted developer has confirmed that it will feature online multiplayer modes.

Chatting with Gaming Examiner, creative director Neil Druckmann explained:

We are supporting multiplayer with The Last of Us. We're not ready to talk about the details of how multiplayer will be implemented, however we can say that it is not co-op within the main campaign.

It’s hard to imagine how Naughty Dog will integrate multiplayer into The Last of Us, but then many said the same thing about Uncharted too. We actually wouldn’t mind seeing some kind of Demon’s Souls-esque feature, where you leave notes and loot for other players in the world. That would be pretty cool.
