@ralphdibny Honestly - bin off everything else and read Dune

I'm properly annoyed that I waited such a long time to read it. The voice overs in the film are an absolute fraction of what the book conveys; it is by-and-large inner monologue and philosophy, with the latter taking an even bigger portion from Dune Messiah onward.

The Bene Gesserit would be Reverend Mother Gaius Helen Mohiam.

@Tasuki I've never really gelled with full on RPGs - it's usually a bit of a pain gathering the same people together consistently for games for me.

I'm facing the challenge of 'forcing' as many friends as possible to read Dune so they'll be as (ridiculously) excited about the game as I am

@KALofKRYPTON haha yeah that's it. The reverend mother, what a suitably epic name/title. She had some great lines in the movie!

See ya!

@ralphdibny Just to bang the drum once more - read the book!

The sisterhood are a really fun group to read throughout the series - not completely portrayed fully in the film.

@KALofKRYPTON Yeah I know what you mean. Before starting this campaign it was almost 20.years since the last time I played D&D with a few oneshots here and there but yeah the main reason is getting people together on the same day at the same time. Back when I was in Jr. high and high school that was easy but as we all grew up got jobs, had families not so much. Now really the only reason we can is cause we live together lol.

@KALofKRYPTON I thought I'd give you a shout because the newest series of South park had a bizarre/funny/unexpected Dune parody episode. I think it was called Turd Burglars from season 23. I just watched through the rest of the series last night as it's leaving NowTV soon. Matt and Trey seem to have watched some random films lately as there is also a There Will Be Blood parody in another episode!

See ya!

@ralphdibny Thanks for the heads up - I'll look out for it.
