Topic: Ps2 purchase help needed

I’m planning to buy a ps2 with 8 ps2 games and 26 ps1 games tomorrow but needed help from someond who knows their old games.
I’m paying €50 for it but I’m not sure yet (it’s from an old man who was cleaning his attic)

I couldn’t entirely make out every game but this is what I could see
Ps1
Klonoa: door to phantomille
Need for speed high stakes
Need for speed 3
Need for speed (not sure which one)
Monsters inc
Gta 2
Batman and robin
Resident evil directors cut
Time crisis
Looney toones
Mission impossible
Buzz lightyear
Harry potter 1

Ps2
Fifa 06
007 everything or nothing
Fifa 2005

Also some of the games weren’t in the original case (all of the above mentioned are though) but all games are the real original copies.

Also it comes with a original ps2, 3 controllers and a memory card (I already have a ps2 slim)

Are the above mentioned games and console (16 of the 34 games) worth the €50

Thanks in advance

P.S. I’m sorry if this isn’t allowed.

None of them seem to be valuable games if that's what you're asking (though Resident Evil isn't cheap either). But it's 34 games and a console for €50. That can't be too bad, especially since it comes with RE Director's Cut. You could always ask him what the other games are.

If its all working, its worth it - whether you get €50 worth of value from it or not, I don't know. It won't have a HDMI connector so you may need to spend money on some analogue to digital connection so you can plug it in to a display. Some displays still have analogue connections but that could be an issue.

If you think about what a modern AAA game costs and what you are getting for €50, its a good deal but if you don't play them, don't like the games etc, you maybe better off buying something you will actually use.

Why can't life be like gaming? Why can't I restart from an earlier checkpoint??

Feel free to add me but please send a message so I know where you know me from...

I didn't see Klonoa. That game alone is worth more than €50.

Yeah Klonoa is great. That and the console is worth 50 to me, no problem. Wouldn't bother with the rest of those games myself. But still, 50 for a PS2 and even one good game ain't bad.

@kyleforrester87 I meant that you could buy the bundle, sell Klonoa for €100+ and make a decent profit if you wanted to.

Seems like the guy has no idea what he's selling.

The European version of Klonoa is worth a LOT to the right person - especially in good condition - more than £50 alone. RE directors cut is worth around £20-30 but then games like GTA2 and Time Crisis are not worth more than a few quid because they are very common.

I kind of thought though the person was asking from the perspective of buying to keep rather than buying to sell. I could be wrong of course and it may well be worth buying just to stick on ebay - Put the rare games up individually and sell the common games and console as a bundle and maybe make enough to buy a PS4 Pro - especially if they are all working and in good condition after being in an attic for god knows how long. Is it worth £50 from a 'playing' perspective - maybe, maybe not - depends on how into retro games you are but in terms of value, you are getting more than €50 worth if you wanted to actually buy and play all of those.

@BAMozzy I’m indeed buying to keep, only game I plan to play is klonoa. I collect games and it would be nice to own something rare (rarest game I own is a boxed copy of pokemon firered)
I’m only planning on reselling the ps2 with the games I already own (already have an ps2 and ps1)

@Octane @kyleforrester87 @BAMozzy thanks for the replies, it helped a lot.

@darkswabber Just looking at it financially it's a very good deal. What you're getting is worth more than you're paying. The games, not all of them are quite my cup of tea, but even if you're interested in a few of them you'll easily get your money's worth.

  • Resident Evil, often sold for 30 euro second hand.
  • Klonoa, if complete sold for at least 70 euro second hand.
  • And many games, like GTA2, Time Crisis, Batman & Robin and the Need for Speed ones, can be sold for 10 euro.
  • The PS2 games are not worth anything, though.

The full package of PS1 games is easily worth 100 euro. So, in no way is it a scam.

Also, if you're a collector and that Klonoa game is in good condition, don't even think twice.

I didn't see Resi DC on the list, that's a great deal then.

I loved that game. Traded it in against who knows what in a moment of stupidity in my youth. Still kick myself.
