Just finished up Legend Mode. Story won't win any rewards, but at least they put more thought into it than they did in the FE installment (and the unique characters are worlds better too).
Put in a lot of time in Adventure Mode too, though I think I'd be lucky to finish a single map, lol (the amount of content on offer is huge).
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
@Knuckles-Fajita Too bad. And they broke their own promise of ''2018 games only'' too
Even with no new games for the remainder of this year, and the focus on 2018 games in mind, I wish they showed at least a little more of Pokemon instead of reusing the same trailer. I had hoped we would get some answers regarding leveling up, stats, training, etc. Or is that a Tree House thing?
@KratosMD Splatoon 2 single player is 35 levels you can play with any of the SP weapons. The DLC is 80 stages.
XC2 - The story is not connected.
About Gold Edition - No idea
Recommendations? Now you've come to the right man, lemme hook ya boi up.
Golf Story Octopath Pick a Wii U game you havent played honestly! There was one indie game, the name escapes me, but it was huge on the system. Ill need to get back to you on that.
Now Playing: Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, Crash Bandicoot 4
Does Splatoon 2 have good single player content? I have heard about a horde mode but is it in-depth enough to warrant a purchase of the game? It seems to also be getting some significant story DLC which I would be interested in.
Splatoon 2 is fun, but I wouldn't purchase it for the single-player campaign, as it's somewhat short. Longer than in the first game, but still very much secondary to the online content.
Also, to be clear, the "horde mode" is entirely online.
Is the story in Xenoblade 2 connected with the story in Xenoblade 1, i.e. do I need to have played the first game before playing the second one? I really want to buy a JRPG on the Switch and Xenoblade 2 seems like a good one. It will apparently also get some major story DLC in September so that's nice.
It's connected to Xenoblade 1, but not in any really substantive way. It's only revealed near the end, and won't mean much of anything to you if you didn't finish the first one. I wouldn't worry too much about it.
Some recommendations for Switch exclusives would be nice as well. I'm mostly looking for games with rich single-player content.
Super Mario Odyssey, obviously. I've also heard a lot of people praise Golf Story, which seems to be some sort of golfing JRPG-style game. Beyond that, I think you're aware of the other worthwhile exclusives. Octopath is also releasing soon.
@KratosMD I can't speak for the DLC. Those 80 levels might be bite-sized. Then again, they might not. I would say the game is worthwhile if you engage both the single-player AND online portions of the game. But, purely based on the single-player content, I can't recommend it. It's not worth $60 if that's all you're going to get it for.
There are two Shantae games on the Switch. Shantae and the Pirate's Curse, which is one of the better games I've ever played (top 20, for sure), and Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, which is pretty but very disappointing compared to the previous games.
Pirate's Curse is $20, I think, and it's easily the best Metroidvania on the system. I can't recommend it enough.
@Knuckles-Fajita Yeah I was really hoping to be shown something that would make me want to hurry and buy a Switch. I already have all the WiiU games they've been porting. The only thing so far that's out I really care about is Super Mario Odyssey and Splatoon 2. I'm interested in the Pokemon game coming this year and the RPG coming next year. There's also the Yoshi game but they didn't mention anything about it. My wife was super let down by no Animal Crossing announcement. So yeah, I was thinking PSVR or Switch...and surprisingly there's more VR games coming than Nintendo games.
@KratosMD yeah for sure. I seriously fell in love with that game. I'm getting the story DLC out of blind loyalty. Even if I didn't play it I'm happy to hand over another £30 or whatever.
