Looking to buy my husband a birthday present, he plays his ps5 a lot, plays call of duty. He has the controller that came with it, he has a remote control, he the pulse headset, and he has a charging stand for his controller and headset. Are there any other gadgets or games he might like? I know there is a new controller out, is that worth getting? Or a new headset as his slightly coming apart, I really have no idea so looking for ideas from you experts 😀

@Ps5wife The new edge controller is a good choice. New headset too, but my knowledge there is limited. I'm sure others have good feedback on those. Depending on price point you could buy him more storage. An internal one with heat sync included. There are some great recommendations on this website. As for games If he likes shooters the new Atomic Heart looks promising. Hope this helps.

@Ps5wife How thoughtful of you! I always am impressed with a spouse or partner who drops by the site to try to get gift ideas for their husband.

I think @Elodin has some good thoughts about getting the new Edge controller (it’s pricey though) since it’s got upgraded features from his stock controller. He’d probably love it, especially if he only has the one controller as having a second is useful in case his battery gets low during a long play session, or if he wants to do couch co-op with someone (maybe you!? 😄). But even beyond that, the superior feature of the Edge controller make it a level up for him.

I’ll also echo the idea of an SSD expansion memory, since the PS5 has a pretty limited memory. Here’s the article on the best options:

As far as a new game, if Call of Duty is his favorite game, then I’m not sure what to recommend since I’m not in that circle personally. You could always give him a PSN store gift card and he could use it to buy a game or an expansion pack for COD.

PSVR2 is another idea, if you think he’d like to get into VR. Also very expensive. But it’s the latest big thing now.

@Ps5wife Add another "you're an awesome partner" comment here!

Sounds like he's got all the good gadgets thusfar, aside from the DualSense Edge others have already mentioned. In terms of games, if he's a big Call of Duty fan, then I'm guessing he's playing the online multiplayer a lot, right? If so, there are other shooters that he might enjoy, such as Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege (if he likes the contemporary stuff and being all tactical and whatnot) or Star Wars: Battlefront II (only if he's a fan of the Star Wars franchise, of course).

They're the first ideas that spring to mind. There are others, but they're all free-to-play (like Apex Legends and Overwatch) and so aren't things you could buy for him. I'd usually recommend the Battlefield series as a Call of Duty alternate, but the latest one wasn't very well-received.

Anyway, best of luck, and I hope he loves whatever you decide to get him (which I'm sure he will)!

@RogerRoger @Kidfried ahhh thanks, I do try to be a good wife and understanding of his gaming needs, keeps him happy and also out from under my feet and means I get the tv to myself in the other room! 😂We do see each other occasionally at home in the evenings… when he comes out to get a beer (although I do occasionally take those to him too, he doesn’t know how lucky he is 😉) Thanks for even more ideas, lots for me to look into 👍🏻👍🏻

There are a few options you can consider for your husband's birthday present, given that he is a fan of playing Call of Duty on his PS5. New controller: The DualSense controller is the newest controller for the PS5 and it offers haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, which provide a more immersive gaming experience. If your husband enjoys the latest technology, he might appreciate this as a gift. New headset: Since his current headset is coming apart, a new headset could be a practical and thoughtful gift. The PlayStation 5 Pulse 3D Wireless Headset is designed specifically for the PS5 and offers 3D audio and noise-cancellation features. Game: If your husband enjoys playing Call of Duty, the latest game in the series is Call of Duty: Vanguard. Alternatively, if he likes to try out different types of games, you could consider gifting him a PlayStation Store gift card, which would allow him to purchase any game he likes. Everything depends on your budget. I bought a couple of new games he never played before and also booked a hotel room with all day spa and so on (this was for Valentine's Day). Instead, he got me carnation flowers in bulk which are my favorite and a silver ring with a diamond.

I prefer coffee and use a thermos mug so it doesn't go cold while I've got a way to go before a save or checkpoint.
