Topic: Need some pro tips on upgrading my tv for PS5/Xbox Series X

Hi guys. I'm upgrading my tv and actually wanted to get an OLED but after so many horror stories about burn in, I'm quite scared now lol
I would like for anyone's feedback on QLED vs OLED, your experiences, tips etc.
I'm having my eye on an LG C1 OLED that has a big discount on a shop in my country. It has 120fps compatibility and I would like to try those modes on some games. Also Dolby Vision and Atmos for Series X.
QLEDs I haven't seen anything yet but I might consider it since, to my understanding, it doesn't get burn in and it also has more bright colours or something like that?

Thanks

I've been using an LG CX OLED TV with my PS5, and before PS4, for well over a year now and haven't had a single bit of burn in. The picture and colour quality is outstanding. I really, really wouldn't worry about burn-in unless you're leaving your TV on a single news channel for 10 hours a day or something.

@LiamCroft Thanks for the feedback! Do you know if the CX is that much different from C1 or B1? I saw a C1 48'' at 960 euros and a B1 55'' at 1090 euros. I'm kind of torn between the two at the moment.

@AFCC I believe the C1 is the model that replaced the CX, so it's more up to date than what I have. Considering I paid roughly £1500 for my TV, that C1 model at 960 euros seems like a very good deal.

@LiamCroft well, I think I will go with that model then! Thanks for the help and I hope you're not still mad with me for when I said devs were lazy lol
Hugs and cheers

Hi all, I am in the market for a new television and with Black Friday around the corner, I thought I would ask if anybody could share their research on TVs and their experiences!

Basically I want to get a TV that is future proof for PS5 and Series X.

On the Xbox One X, there is like a diagnostic tool that tells you exactly what your display is capable of doing. I'm not sure if there is something similar on PS5 and Series.

Lots of these new terms have been bandied about like 4K, VRR, 120FPS, HDR, HDMI 2.1 etc and while I know what some of it means, I also know that the TV Manufacturers can be tricksy (damn you "HD Ready"! 😅).

So yeah, I was just wondering if people knew from research or experience, which TVs from which manufacturers have all the bells and whistles that the PS5 and Series consoles are capable of. All of the features with no tradeoffs.

I've heard great things online about the LG C1 series and I've heard good things in real life about a cheaper manufacturer called Hisense. I'm really open to any brand though, Sony, Samsung, whoever. 3D is a plus but I highly doubt any sets feature this any more

I just want to be able to pounce on a deal come black Friday without being delayed by doing last minute research on a particular set that I'm not familiar with

@Kidfried 55" plus I should think. I know there is a large jump in price if you go any bigger than that. On the c1 range at least anyway

See ya!

@AFCC note that C1 made from September 21 and later currently have a issue with the HDMI mode where it will only function hdmi 1.4 mode. They working on a fix but just good to know in advance

@AFCC We just got the Samsung Q60 QLED 50 inch, and it it amazing. It's constantly blowing my mind with graphics etc. When the PS5 is turned on, it switches to 'Game Mode' automatically. Loving it so far

Current Level - 55

Hey all! I got the C1 48" and it's an incredible tv! I didn't get any errors so far and for my tiny room it's perfect!
