Two hours in and its is as good as Radbrad says in the review, playing in normal mode and i have died a couple of times, loving it so far.
My initial enthusiasm didn't last long, i soon tired of running down the same corridor over and over burst through a giant door attack several of the enemy and repeat, I bought it for single player so haven't played the other game types if i had known what i do now i would not have bothered.
lol fair enough. I played it recently on Steam Deck (on the Master Chief Collection). It’s the first time I’ve ever played the Halo games, so no nostalgia there for me. I completed it but I am not sure I had much fun. It’s mostly pretty frustrating, especially later once the bloody Flood arrive.
I’m most of the way through Halo 2 but kinda got bored and worn out with it. I hear people say good things about 3 and Reach so should get back to it really…
But Halo 1, yeah, pretty good early on but wore out its welcome and never really recovered for me…
played it on pc gamepass to try it and glad i did. Now I had PS1 and Xbox OG 2001 with Halo convinced me to switch and have always loved Halo, including Halo 4 (but not Halo 5)
but this game is just bad, sure the graphics are prettier but honestly not fantastic. The gameplay is the same and yes the OG Halo had some ***** AI, enemies would just stand there and let you shoot them or move in and out of cover letting you shoot them easily. This remake keeps the same dumb AI which is not acceptable in 2026 IMO, it killed the game for me and made me not want to play. sure i guess you can up the difficulty as i aways play on default but you shouldn't have to.
