Re: Talking Point: What New Trophy Features Do You Want on PS5?

vrtualinsanity

I got an Xbox back in Sept and although I'm fully invested in Trophies I'd be lying if I didn't mention how much better MS handle this than Sony.

I love trophies more than achievements but I love the way XB handles achievements much more than Sony does trophies.

I'd expect stat tracking, leaderboards and better rewards (like MS Rewards) as a minimum. MS are killing it on that front.

I bought an XB1 this year. Sony have dominated my bedroom (and now I'm older living room) since PS1. Nobody can argue the success of the PS4 and first party titles this generation but MS have performed a wonder stroke that can't be ignored.

PSNow may have the market share. PS+ may have the most engagement but Gamepass has the good will of consumers and I'm on that train now too.

I don't like the XB UI compared to PS4. Games look better on my PS4 than my S. However I played Resi 4 in GP and bought Resi 2 on XB just because. I may buy Resi 3 on there too. I played Guacamelee 2 on GP and bought the DLC on XB. I've got over £30 worth of MS points and bought games for my XB.

I hate to say it but with all of FF coming to GP next year I may even wait for FFVII on XB too.

MS are doing great. Sony need to take notes with new consoles coming soon.

Re: Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled Is Getting Microtransactions

@Rudy_Manchego you paid for the game. They added content to the game after release. Last gen this would have been paid DLC but it isn't. It's there to be earned in game. For free. It wasn't in the original CTR and Beenox are making new tracks for free.

I've got all I wanted from the last GP for free. They are not taking that option away. They are just adding a shortcut for people who can't or don't want to play to earn Baby Crash or whatever.

What part of that is wrong?

Re: Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled Is Getting Microtransactions

I got all the items I wanted only missing a few flag packs for free. I'll do that again this GP too.

They probably did have the intention to add these wumpa coins to the PSN store from the off but they've already giving us 5 new characters, 1 new track, 3 karts, numerous costumes, tires, stickers and paint jobs for free.

They even gave us Nitro Kart tracks and I wasn't even expecting that.

Are you begrudging them giving players the option and making money on content they have added to CTR for free?

Re: Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled Is Getting Microtransactions

What's the problem with this? I couldn't quite clear out the Pit Stop this GP and dont mind the option to make sure I get all I want if I feel like I need to. They've said it won't impact the GP mechanics.

This means nothing to anyone who doesn't want them and something to people who do...

Why does all the good will from the free GP with free items dissappear when more options that don't affect the original offer are added?

Re: Layers of Fear 2 Will Stop You from Sleeping in 2019

This is great news. I always got the impression some reviewers (such as IGN) just didn't play the game as intended and missed the nuanced, uneasy narrative that wasn't actually smashing your head in like some claimed.

Each ending was different, the way you got there was complex and intricate and the whole game was excellent!

Re: Feature: 10 Spooky PS4 Games to Play on Hallowe'en

vrtualinsanity

@get2sammyb Definitely. It won't give you the jump scares as much as the main game but they are still there and it's sinister as hell. The premise is you are the daughter all grown up going back to the house. There's 3 more endings so if you're in the mood to dive deeper into it's worth the few quid for sure.

Re: Feature: 10 Spooky PS4 Games to Play on Hallowe'en

I think everyone should give Layers of Fear a go. The Dorian Gray thing is the surface level However if you're the type of player that goes slow and reads the text, finds the memories you actually end up with a story about how an artist deals with grief. The multiple endings each represent obsession with his art, his family or fixing his wife.

Sure the jump scares get a bit frequent but the narrative really pulled me and the missus in.
Also, although less scary, the DLC does a great job of concluding the story whichever ending you were left with in the main game.
