Re: Feature: Should You Buy Dying Light on the PS4?

@mitcHELLspawn I didn't think they were zombies. I thought they had a virus? They're small pox zombies? And fast runners, too. They should be in the Olympics.

Why are they kept out of the Olympics? Is it some kind of zombie racism? It reminds me of Resident Evil 5. Now that was a game with a great story in it. Truly Shakespearean.

@get2sammyb It's not possible to take seriously. Anything about zombies is stupid. They never made any sense. What happens when zombies eat all the humans? Do they eat each other? Why are they eating flesh? Is it brains or flesh they prefer? Why does getting bit by one turn you into one? You don't even have to die first, even though they're supposed to be risen from the grave.

Re: Review: Tetris Ultimate (PlayStation 4)

Although I've warmed up to this version of Tetris some (I do find it very "cold" feeling at first like the author describes) I wish Puyo Puyo Tetris was out here for a "fun" version (at least on Vita where you'd think Tetris Ultimate would be too).

Re: Black Friday PS4 Bundles Leaked at Walmart, Best Buy, Target

I'd like to see Vita price drops. I think they should sell it in stand-alone editions in the U.S.: black and white as color options, at $139.99 or $159.99, and memory cards at $10, $20, $40, $60 respectively (introducing the 64gb option to the west and no longer selling 4gb versions).

The Vita's built up quite a good library by now, with a lot of titles that aren't found anywhere else.

Re: Talking Point: Should SCEA Prepare More Official PS4 Bundles?

stalepie2

I think bundles are cool if they're actually special (like the Dragon Quest edition of PS4) but when it's just the outer box that's different and a digital code inside it's not enticing. Actually it feels more insulting. Especially when the prices are about the same as buying this stuff separately.

With Vita (2000) I'd rather just buy it stand alone at $140-$160, but they want to tack on $40 extra for a game I don't want. I know I can sell the code, but why make the consumer go to this kind of trouble?

In other words, the core editions should always be the main thing and the bundles should be special limited editions, more appealing to collectors.

If they want to make PS4s more unique (not everyone wants black or solid colors) they could sell faceplates separately.

I'm a Playstation fan but I don't get why this would win. There's probably been far more interesting and innovative products this year. This seems more like a popularity contest or beauty contest. PS4 is definitely the most beautiful, especially in that picture up top...

I found the game frustrating at first, but then I switched to first person (press down on the d-pad a few times) and it becomes so much easier to aim and not crash into things! Definitely recommended that way. Now I'm liking it a lot. Some levels are quite beautiful, like Purple City.

Re: Feature: 10 PS4, PS3, and Vita Reveals That We Reckon Will Happen at Gamescom 2014

@voodoo341 I completely agree that there ought to be more big budget titles that show off the system. Hopefully it's just a slow start for them this gen (it's usually a bit of a slow start). Even with indies I'd like to see them show off the graphical power of the systems more - I think they can without breaking the bank. I mean, I personally like seeing throwbacks to old system styles (like "Castle in the Darkness" and "Odallus" which look like NES), but I get that most people that didn't grow up with those sort of games — or even those that did — want projects to move onward and really show the cutting edge in graphics as much as they can.

@charlesnarles: I agree. Wish these terms weren't used. It's one thing to describe budget levels, staff size and whether the company is independent from a large corporation, but the terms are now used to describe multiple genres at once.

@voodoo341: The largest number of small titles and low budget games has always been on the PC, which is also the most powerful platform. What "place" do you want indies to be? I've seen a lot of people use that word, but honestly it makes more sense they belong on PS4 or Xbox since those aren't as powerful as PC.

There's always been smaller titles on every platform I can think of. People seem to have a really poor memory about this. For instance, on PS2 there was "Alien Hominid," a 2D Flash game that started in the browser at Newgrounds. On Xbox and PS3 from the same company there was the popular Castle Crashers. Actually there were a ton of "indie" games on PS3 and Xbox early on, for at least the last 6 years or so. Just check the dates of their release on PSN sometime. They just weren't called "indies" back then to my knowledge.

(I did a check to see if I was right - try this link: https://store.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com/#!/en-us/all-ps3-games/cid=STORE-MSF77008-PS3ALLPS3GAMES%7C%7Crelease_date~asc

See the first two games? Blast Factor and Cash Gun Zombies? The second one in particular reminds me of #killallzombies and Crimsonland. But their dates are 2006! Some of the earliest PS Network games released).
