Re: PS5 Pro Will Reportedly Boost PS4 Games, and Reduce PSVR2 Motion Sickness

@DaniPooo

Hi friend hope you are doing well.

if you can live without pure gold and diamond and that's totally fine for a lot of people.

I can definitely live without, its ugly metals/gemstones most of the time if I'm honest, it does not appeal to me personally, but I can see the appeal with its investment relating to the monetary value. To me the PS5/Pro is not the same.

but for those that are looking specifically for gold and diamond it's actually a great deal even though it might take them quite a while to save up money for it.

Not going to change my viewpoint nor opinion but for anyone else just enjoy.

Re: PS5 Pro Gives Dying Light 2 Improved Graphics Modes, Better Resolutions

I enjoyed playing this on base ps5 and performance was great for first person perspective and the heavy weapons had some excellent weight effect and the parkour when you get it just right and in the flow is just superb, but that Quality — Upscaled 4K at 30FPS with ray tracing is ok if you can cope with such a low frame rate, that's kind of like the opposite of what I thought Mark Cerny was implying or maybe I just misunderstood what he was actually saying?

Re: In USA, the PS5 Pro Launched with Similar Sales to the PS4 Pro

mantalon

I remember buying a second hand PS4 Pro with 14 games for £250 off my mate, I'm not sure that deal will happen again, lol. I put a ssd in it and repasted cpu/heatsink with artic mx6 and gelid solution thermal pads for the memory chips and to be honest I think only the ssd had some slight improvements like maybe less texture pop in? and there was thermal paste push-out effect (thermal cycling) but it did dry out quite rapid on my machine. PS5 teardown looks rough for factory thermal paste but I suppose taking into consideration the factory at full load on production line runs the robots are not as careful or precise as the human touch lol.

Re: PS5 Pro Will Reportedly Boost PS4 Games, and Reduce PSVR2 Motion Sickness

@DaniPooo it's an objective observation.

Well, the fact is I think it's too expensive for what it is, and depending on the game they are still capping some at 30 fps, that's just so funny to me and all because they want the ray tracing tech that lowers the performance, wait what? meh but whatever I suppose, I would rather spend more money and go PC for better performance with regards to frame rates, refresh rates, free multiplayer and in some cases cheaper games. I have seen some PS5 games nearly £70 on their digital store front that I think is a rip-off, that's my objective reply with a large portion of my personal opinion/s.

Re: PS5 Pro Will Reportedly Boost PS4 Games, and Reduce PSVR2 Motion Sickness

mantalon

@DaniPooo It's an expensive machine that is worth the money.
the pricing makes sense.

It looks like many are ok paying that price, but I'm not and never ever will be. Don't take me too seriously I always call expensive items a rip-off. Last November I purchased a PS5 (CFI-1216A) in a sale for £380 and I would rather have paid £300 because that's what I think it's worth but that's me, £380 is a rip-off lol.

Enjoy your day

Re: PS5 Pro Will Reportedly Boost PS4 Games, and Reduce PSVR2 Motion Sickness

mantalon

@DaniPooo rip-off does not mean expensive.
That is not the actual meaning of the word.

Dictionary = "To cheat or swindle, especially by charging an excessively high or unfair price"

That's exactly what I think, hence rip-off for what it is, meh.

You want to buy one? go ahead I'm not stopping anyone lol, I'll wait as long as I really want to and maybe, maybe I'll get one in a sale in the future sometime? also, for me personally there are no interesting games to play, most are crap that I wouldn't pay a tenner for, again, I'll wait for a sale. £700 lol, what a rip-off.

@species People hate Epic store

Haters gonna hate I don't know what else to say other than I had no problems with the Epic launcher nor the digital store although to be fair I purchased a RTX 2080Ti Founders Edition back in the day and got three free games included, Metro Exodus which was an Epic exclusive, Battlefield 5 and EA's Anthem, all those games at retail would of cost me £150+, Metro Exodus was awesome and one of the first with ray tracing I think?

Re: Alan Wake 2 Trapped in Financial Dark Place, 'Most' Development, Marketing Costs Recouped

mantalon

@StonyKL at £70 a pop

There have been 2 sales on ps store for the base game at £39.99. Base game on ps store now is £49.99 and as far as I know it's always been that price, dlc or addons at £15. Epic Games store is £39.99 for base game and £15 for addons/dlc. Alan Wake 2 Deluxe Edition disc version inc night springs and lake house and some cosmetic items and Alan Wake remastered for £59.99. Alan Wake 2 Deluxe Edition on ps store now is £64.99.

Re: Alan Wake 2 Trapped in Financial Dark Place, 'Most' Development, Marketing Costs Recouped

mantalon

@Lavishturtle Release it on Steam like it should have been and make money.

I read that Epic payed for the development of Alan Wake 2. I'm getting older and I can remember ATI (original GPU manufacturer) gave $6million towards the development cost of Half Life 2, and the game came bundled with some ATI graphics cards like the Radeon 9700 Pro, lol. Expensive business for sure, I personally don't like exclusive deals I much prefer multi-platform but getting the funds and forking out the dosh can be risky business. Some called this game Alan Woke 2 because of the Saga Anderson white lady turning into a black lady, I watched AW2 worth-a-buy video for the lols.

Re: PS5 Pro Packaging Flaunts Its Disc-Free Nature

mantalon

@1UP-HUSKY we won't own the games we buy anymore.

What are the bond lyrics? .."Got a Licence to thrill", ha

No seriously though one can only own the physical disc and any printed documents or cover fronts and even then you don't really own the printed material or other paraphernalia to make copies and sell on. The game code itself is protected by copyright and laws and can not be owned by the gamer, just a legal licence to pay and play.

Re: PS5 Pro Packaging Flaunts Its Disc-Free Nature

mantalon

@AshleighKinsella I enjoy my physical games

I presume it's for building a collection and display? I have a family member who displays his film/movie collection, have to say it looks good it's like a collection of books on shelves, a personal library.

because i mainly play offline about 90% without a internet connection

My digital only games so far are Resident Evil 4 remake, Dead Space remake, The last of Us Part 2 remastered and Assassins Creed Valhalla. I can play all these games offline. But the point is even if I purchased the Physical Disc version I still need internet connection for updates, patches and obviously the actual downloads. Some games don't fit on Disc anymore because of the size but I did buy the PS5 physical disc version of the Callisto protocol second hand for about £8, the whole game is on the disc because I tested install without internet enabled (I only use wifi) but I still enabled network on later because there was an update. I mainly only purchase second hand physical disc versions now but I presume the way things are going eventually there will be no second hand games anymore if there are no more trade-in, probably some years out for now but time creeps up on us. No problem with digital only but that price bracket, yikes man. there is always the sales I suppose, I got AC Valhalla for £15 in the digital store sale. Here in the UK we have CeX second hand shops that sell physical game discs but some games are still high priced, I saw Star Wars Outlaws second hand for £52, what a joke no way I'm paying that lol

Re: PS5 Pro Packaging Flaunts Its Disc-Free Nature

mantalon

Reads the same on the PS5 Digital Edition slim. I like the modular by design if I'm honest but the price is too high for me personally, I don't have a problem with digital only games because I have about four I think? I'm glad for second hand games for now. Just picked up The Division 2 for £3.

Re: Ubisoft Confident Assassin's Creed Shadows Will Make February Launch

mantalon

@Kidfunkadelic83 Cyberpunk. That launched in one of the worst states ever

Cyberpunk 2077 all patched up is still overrated and Keanu Reeves monotone dialogue is so dull and the NPC are dumb as rocks but to be fair most games A.I. NPC are, definitely artificial and most certainly not intelligent, hence dumb as rocks quote, lol. My opinion of course, ha.

Re: Alan Wake 2: The Lake House (PS5) - Stellar DLC Paints a Path Forward for the Remedy Universe

mantalon

@Digit2021 their marketing states PS5 Pro is the way to play AW2

That's just marketing tactics, it you're fussy about reflections refractions and shadows then I guess you got to wait it out but in my honest opinion ray tracing is ok but too demanding for the consoles and I don't think any gamer is missing out. I had a high-end pc 4+ years ago and ray tracing was ok but nothing groundbreaking. Even older games have decent graphics without ray tracing.

Re: Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Team Mostly 'Shifted to Other Projects', Ubisoft Confirms

mantalon

@UltimateOtaku91 who wants to buy Ubisoft games at full price when they have huge discounts a month or two after release.

I'm sure Star Wars Outlaws released August 30, 2024? it's still £55+ at retail outlets here in the UK and the digital store fronts are close to £70 for the standard edition. So, definitely no huge discounts yet. Be interesting to see what happens at the end of this month.
