@MaccaMUFC @get2sammyb At the state of play of course you don't mention other platforms. As you don't at MS or Nintendo events. Unless maybe MLB the show if it shows on one lol. It's the versions of the trailers released by the publishers and such after that can't mention the other platforms that's the issue. Example, those games were immediately known to be multiplatform after the event lol. Also Sony wasn't calling a bunch of games exclusives.
Here's the difference. SFVI for example is allowed to advertise every version of the game from the start. Immediately. Persona, they just say PC and Xbox despite the press release saying otherwise
@banacheck How much do you really follow? Microsoft did the exact same thing with Scarlet Nexus. It was damn near impossible to find out a PS version existed for a while and Bandai only ever maybe 2 times ever mentioned the existence of the PS version. Even Preorder links they would exclude the PS version. Like I had multiple PS5 and PS4 owning friends that thought it was a Xbox exclusive and I had to tell them they can buy the game lol. MS has been doing these dirty tactics. This is almost as bad as Making the next gen Yakuza timed exclusive but not the last gen version lol. MS will do anything to deceive. It's literally what I hate about them. I'm fine with bad communication and I can put up with SOME of Nintendo's scummy ways. But MS is just pure manipulation tactics. Like PS will literally put a time limit on their timed exclusives in their videos and such. MS will make a publisher exclude the other platforms existence when posting anything on the game coming to all platforms same time.
@Milktastrophe what you may actually find out if you were actually looking is. After companies heard about the censorship. Most of them made modifications themselves before sony says anything assuming they will. But the problems tend to come from sexualizing underage characters. Not necessarily censoring everything sexual. Like sure being based in the US is probably why it's a thing as theirs literal child nudity laws you don't even want to play around tbh. People will argue they're just drawings or characters. Then you can easily argue that why does it need to be underage characters being sexualized. Their needs to be a shift in the mindset of the Japanese culture for that stuff. It's becoming more and more out of hand. There's too much incest stuff coming out. Like they're really fetishizing little sisters with big bros. Still hate that Neptunia ReBirth 2 has a scene where 8 year old rom and ram are being licked down in the most tentacle like way in a full illustration with them saying hey, don't lick me their and such. As a artist myself and currently writing a series. I understand freedom of expression and such. But there absolutely needs to be ground rules. Also I don't know what's up with that game. That's crazy wild. The only game I've known to make big changes through censorship was Tokyo Mirage Sessions. The only time I was kinda shocked. But yeahhhh don't get why they used the English version on the switch release lol. Maybe cheaper to do that? Not too sure.
But even with that, Square Enix never was a company about extreme fanservice and didn't have conflicting issues with Sony anyways. Whether the game wad good or bad, the gameplay always spoke for itself outside of Nier lol. Which didn't do enough to get censored
@Rural-Bandit You know what's worse than anything. Someone trying to be stealth neutral and quickly exposes their position.
As a person who plays PC, PS, and Ninty. I was happy about the Bethesda move, only because it meant MS finally would have some movement giving Sony some competition. As MS as a gaming company has been an absolute joke since they stopped trying late in the 360 Era. Actually alot of people were fine with it. Sure some fans weren't and alot were confused because of MS being Microsoft and pretending they'd still release Bethesda games outside Xbox. Which I knew was going to be a lie outside existing agreements.
They always play dirty. They were the ones who started all the money hatting companies in the 360 Era where they were paying for a million Japanese games to stay off playstation for years. No one bat an eye. When PS played their game in the PS4 Era, people started complaining ironically lol.
MS buys Bethesda. Sony Buys companies that have been working as second party companies to them for so long. People keep bringing up Japan studios like it wasn't pretty obvious that Japan Studios was restructured into Asobi lol. Then MS buys Acti Blizzard. Why wouldn't Sony fans want them to buy a publisher? They're afraid MS will just keep doing it. Next you hear they got ubisoft, Sega Capcom etc. And there's nothing on sonys console lmao. Nahh, let there be balance. If MS is playing that game and Sony decides to play ball, it's rightfully so. I was happy about Bethesda, but knew Acti was really starting a real problem and the fact your argument is Sony fans being supportive of the idea and not MS buying twice before sonys done once, is showing the real hypocrisy here
@Olmaz Yes and no. He actually said both. The ps5 has a dedicated compressor and decompressor built into the hardware meaning it uses none of the console resources to compress and decompress and the console does it incredibly fast. So while yes the stuff like duplication of last Gen to keep speeds up is a factor. It's also the compression because the console can do all that work at the same time as everything else as it has dedicated hardware for it.
That's why the amounts saved on size generally start at about 25%. Most ps4 titles have forms of duplication but some are games that don't use it since they're not large and still save a good amount like Worms I believe was about 50% saving on size. Crash 4 was too I think.
@TeapotBuddha Music creation on it is essentially the same as LBP as far as I looked. I've made music on LBP and it's come out good. I'd say the tools are slightly better here. It's basically like a piano roll on FL. If you know how to use it manually then this is a good music creation tool for fun. A good example is you can make game music without much issue on it as well as the fact the ending cover song for time moves slow was done in game as far as I'm aware. So it's what you're willing to do I guess. May need to look at some YouTube videos and look up Time moves slow Dreams.
These comments are funny to me. 1. This discussion is silly because anime is Japanese cartoons whether you want to admit it or not. There's a reason they call Simpsons anime in Japan. I can confirm this true through friends straight from Japan. 2 so what does this mean. Anime is ultimately just a subgenre of animation. Under the grounds of animation. We still got Disney, Netflix and Warner to deal with as big boys. I wouldn't even consider the anime market to be a big threat seeing Sentai and Viz still exist through Viz only goes for select big series. Sony has done wonders for FUNimation, bringing all the Aniplex titles over. Dubbing a bunch of Ani series that wouldn't normally get. Getting series from NIS and Viz. They've clearly been a very beneficial part of FUNimation. It's been alot better than the old partnership between CR and FUNi. If they can do that again where they buy out crunchy and use Crunchy as the subbed place and FUNi as the subbed place I wouldn't be mad. I thought it was great like that
But yeah, Anime won't be seen as a separate market as Netflix is in the market, Sentai, Viz, Amazon etc.
