@hi_drnick They kinda are though. With bluray discs the factory pipelines are well established. The construction is simple too (a matter of pressing a disc), and with blurays being used by ps games, xbox games and movies the production scale is significant. With cartridges its more complex. The scale of production is much smaller, with them being used in nintendo switch 1/2 only (i mean switch format ofc). The construction of electronic chip requires more diverse materials and more complex process as well. Ofc, using non-established format is Nintendo's choice, mind you, although not powered as much by "we want these to be expensive" but rather "we dont want something compatible with anything else, since people will copy these carts like crazy"
We have successful nintendo switch, handheld pcs, so it does not seem unlikely. But, while i dearly loved my Vita, seeing how easily sony abandons their products (i dont see anything groundbreaking yet on psvr2) i'll think twice before getting sony handheld again
@AndyKazama Yes, no, kinda For thousands of years technology is reducing need for manual labor. And that's fine. Humanity will likely meet a point where eg. truck drivers will not be necessary, because AI driving is cheaper, does not get sick, does not fall asleep while driving etc. What I don't really see happening is AI replacing creative work. Or, at the very least, before AI achieves sentience. Part of creative work can be delegated to AI though, we have AI help with animation blending to get more realistic character movement, or AI help simulate fluid behavior in games. These things are very much fine imho
@themightyant In HZD the story had a great mystery, which was slowly explored (and then totally jumped into at the end). While in-game-present time stuff were ok. Still, the big secret pushed things forward and it was very effective imho.
In HFW there was no such big secret anymore. Not only that, though. Moreso, there were new machine variants, but nothing felt as fresh anymore. The main antagonists were not really exciting to fight either. (On a good side, the exploration of societies was really neat though)
So while the gameplay-wise HFW was great. and it was truly a sight to behold visually, the story was not nearly as good imho as in first game and it did not live up to its expectations.
Will I buy the DLC if it comes out? Yeah, very likely so. Will I enjoy it as much as HZD? I'm not really hoping on that
On one hand i do use my NS alot and like handhelds in general (busy lifestyle, kids, not much time to sit in front of TV, but being able to take out a handheld anywhere allows me to play whenever i can spare few mins) and I really loved by PSV. On the other, Sony did so many mistakes with what they wanted to do with PSV - they abandonned it very early, did not push on nearly enough western AAA titles, pushed onto unique expensive storage (it was great JRPG machine in the end, with game prices being very low <3). So I don't know just how viable it would be. If they released a handheld I'd probably would postpone purchase and see for few months how it's doing and what Sony intends to really do with it.
@Kingleo31 it gets better later on. At first I could only play static games and 10 mins at a time, but now an hour of an action game with smooth walking is not an issue. Just don’t try to force yourself to keep playing past nausea, as soon as it gets bad just take a break
I finished HFB yesterday actually and it's a bag of mixed things for me. The graphics were just GORGEOUS and i have never seen a game looking nearly as good before. I totally loved it, each scene was a pleasure to see. Gameplay, similarly to HZD was also great. Fights felt very satisfying, any gameplay additions that were there felt good. I never really thought that a puzzle was not scaled fairly, if i had issue with something it was because i was missing a visual cue, which was there, so i felt it was on me. The story, however, just lacked the punch of the first game of a series. HZD was pulling us through politics of the world, and at the end answered a question that we ourselves starting asking - what made a world this way, and then it answered it in a jaw dropping manner. In HFW the ending plot twist and reveal seemed a bit out of thin air. In my opinion it just can't compare. And because of it I would not call it a Game of a Year.
That being said, if you feel otherwise, its fine and i respect that. What i wrote above is just what it is - a subjective opinion. Cheers!

Re: Random: It Now Takes Devs 270 Days to Make One Gran Turismo Car
Having developed aircraft for high fidelity simulations (military use and dcs) that does not surprise, one aircraft takes about 2 years to develop

Re: Need for Speed Unbound Adopts a Bold New Look in First PS5 Screens
I like it! Its fresh and may go well with non-sim profile of the NFS series. I'll definitely be interested to give it a try
