There’s no doubt the Internet can be a weird place, so it’s perhaps no surprise that VTubers are massive right now. For those out of the loop, these are virtual characters that appear on YouTube, playing video games, vlogging about their virtual life, and sometimes doing more general things, like dancing and singing. To be clear, these people aren’t real: the clue’s in the name.

Kizuna AI, with a millions of subscribers across multiple channels, is so big that she’s got her own video game – and it’s coming to PS5 and PS4, with optional PSVR2 and PSVR support respectively. This title is already available on Meta Quest 2, and in the virtual reality mode you’ll be tasked with wielding glowsticks and “touching the beat” – a little bit like Beat Saber, without all the laser sword theatrics.

There’ll be a non-virtual reality mode in the PlayStation release, allowing you to play in pancake mode like a traditional rhythm game, such as in the Hatsune Miku titles. This one will be launching on PS5 in time for PSVR2’s launch date, on 22nd February – and then the PS4 version will follow two months later on 27th April.
